Returning to Hammer
« on: July 05, 2007, 01:49:44 PM »
Hi all...I want to buy a Hammer ...Looking for a ball to replace my Storm Fired Up..I want to get a Black Widow Pearl but I am wondering if anyone has used it on a medium to heavy oil setup...I would say our lanes are a medium to heavy type oil...My Fired Up is 3 yrs old and has about 500 games on it and does have trouble on those type of conditions now thet it is older ...Any help would be appreciated

Well, if your looking for medium-heavy, I would go with a original Black Widow, not the pearl. But if you are looking for something to replace your Fired Up, I would suggest a Doom or Toxic.

My Current Arsenal,
Columbia 300 Action
Hammer Black Widow
Absolute Inferno
Doom Raw Hammer
Faball Black Hammer

For Sale or Trade:
15lb Hammer Saw Blade
16lb Columbia 300 Action

Thanks Crusher..I just might buy both today...It's amazing how just 1 person out of 188 actually responded..thought this was supposed to be the best bowling forum on the web.

For me, the Toxic was closer to the Fired Up ( drilled almost the same) on our med/heavy oil. I am more down and in, so it might not be for you as it was for me.

I did have to adjust the covers on both so they wouldn't skid to far, unless you want to adjust the cover, I'd go with the Black Widow first. If you just "have to " have another ball ( don't worry, I do also) then the BWP should be a good ball for second/early third game.

PS: Sorry, just looked at your profile....since you have a good ball to start, then the BWP should fit right in where your Fired Up is, but I'd still tell you to look at the Toxic before buying.
