venom
« on: January 27, 2009, 10:56:34 AM »
I bought a Black widow Venom about three weeks ago,I drilled mine straight up(with the pin up and between the inserts).I left if with the out of box finish.I am having a problem with the ball hooking too early.I thought it would go really long and then have a fairly large backend. It does still have a fairly large backend but it picks up in the mid lane and then its just a continous hook.I was wondering what surface i should try on it.
Thanks

You could hit the ball with 4000 or 2000 abralon and knock the shine off of it. That should smooth it out, and stop the violent backend.

i was wondering if there was anything i could do to get it down the lane where it would hook later instead of hooking so early and burning up....but i may just have to knock the polish off and make it a heavy oil ball

I'm really surprised it doesn't get down the lane OOB surface. Mine doesn't have any trouble, and doesn't really over react.

With pin over the bridge, it should get way down the lane, and make a big flip.

Is there not enough oil for it?

What else do you throw that does get down the lane further, compared to the Venom?

My guess it might be "too dry" of lanes.

yea the house i bowl at is very light oil so you cant use very aggressive equipment but i do throw a Track Rising Se,Uprising,Temper and a Hammer No mercy and they all get down the lane better than the venom..its suprising because every1 i hear that has a venom loves it and they say that it goes long and then has a large backend....mine has the backend but it picks up midlane...even a buddy of mine that bowls on my team has 1 and thats why i bought mine because of how well his does(but he is lefthanded)..I think you are right there about the lanes being too dry for it..But i thought it would do good on light to medium oil...I guess ill just keep it in the bag for oiler conditions
