Hammer Arsenal Question
« on: August 14, 2006, 03:29:11 AM »
I have a pain and a doom both drilled stacked and love the 1-2 punch.  The doom is great on clean backends w/o carrydown and the pain is awesome on spotty conditions with carrydown.  I've heard a ton of good things about the black widow but I'm worried that it is going to overlap what I have now.  Any opinions from people that have thrown all 3 if it's worth adding to my arsenal??

Also, what is the cover prep on the widow?  I can't find it anywhere.

if u drill it strong it probably won't but f you are really worried about overlap you should just get the Hawg Zilla

I have the Pain and Doom but not the BW.  I have seen the BW in action.  There could be some overlap between the BW and Pain with oil handling capabilities but not with the type of reaction you would get from both.

The BW gives a reaction not seen on many balls.  It's a very angular hard arc if that makes any sense.  Very strong in the back end but it has more of an arc instead of flip.

The only other ball that I know of that gives a reaction like that is the Cobalt bomb (pearl)  The difference is the BW handles more oil than the cobalt bomb.

I've decided after listening to posts and talking to a hammer rep to purchase the black widow and drill a 5" pin above fingers with mass bias right of thumb.  I will post full reviews on all 3 balls and the differences when I get a couple games on it.  Should be interesting....

I have my BW drilled like that. It is very clean through the front of the lane. On the back end it has a very unique reaction. Like chitown said it is a very angular hard arc. Hard to understand unless you see it. I get tons of pin action with this ball. It will be the first out of the bag this upcoming season.
