new ball to compliment Doom

I throw a Hammer Doom and usually towards the end of league it's to powerful and won't hold its line. Also i bowl in tournaments and late in the days its just too strong. The lane conditions are medium but dry up fairly quick. I was thinking of getting a Emerald Vibe to be my go-to ball when things dry up. Im a down and in guy, throw straight down 2nd arrow with strong backend snap into the pocket. Would the emerald vibe be a good ball choice to compliment the doom when it becomes to strong? The doom is drilled pin above ring.

I am not sure the Emerald won't be too strong. It was way underrated.. I would not get it to go under the doom. I would probably look at the Razyr to be your step down ball to the doom. And be conservative with the drilling.

the blue is a good ball to think about like the reaction on drying lanes better than emerald . just my 0.02

i agree that the blue would probably fit better as far as overall hook, but the emerald will definitely go longer. my emerald compliments my Doom perfectly. i do have a weaker drilling on it though. i would drill it similarly as far as pin up or down goes, but make it a touch weaker, maybe 1/2" further away from you PAP than the Doom. That should make it do exactly what you're looking for.

Ok sounds good. I love the length i get out of the doom so i will drill a new vibe similar to the doom but weaken it a bit.

Y not the Razyr thats what that ball was supposed to be for light condition yes u get limited drilling possibility but still better choice cause the vibes i think are stronger then the doom at least i know the blue is much stronger.

I have an Emerald to go under my Zilla. It's the perfect match, for me, another down and inner. I put the pin/pap 4 1/4 with the pin about 3 in above midline. I can use it from the middle of the second game as long as I wish. I usually start out with a med/heavy and changes to med/dry, depending on who is throwing what.

I'm usually not a huge pearl guy, except loved the Toxic, but the EV gives me just the extra skid, length, snap I need.

No way!  The Blue Vibe is an awesome bowling ball.  It's in my top 5 bowling balls of all time.  However, it's not stronger than the Doom.  If both balls are at the same cover grit the Doom is stronger.

My Doom is drilled 2 inch over the bridge, about 5 inch to PAP with my normal release. My Razyr is drilled the recommended way. The Razyr is relatively new and the Doom has 3 resurfacings and about 1500 games on its back.

The Razyr is my ball to go when the Doom is starting to go high. Hope this helps somehow

the blue vibe is weaker than the emerald in my opinion. i had both keep my blue for med dry and gave the other to a friend. i would go blue and pin down.
