Venom or Bite?
« on: November 17, 2008, 05:10:37 AM »
I have a Black Widow Solid and really love it, but it occasionally jumps a little early and goes high.  I was thinking about getting the Venom, but I'm afraid that the pattern may be a little long and heavy for it.  How's the length on the Bite?

Take the Venom to 2k abralon handles plenty of oil, smooth moving ball with decent backend pop.

Better ball would be a grand illusion for the same shot though as a suggestion.

The Venom is a pearl version of the Bite. OOB the Venom is longer than the Bite and much more rollie than the solid. Even OOB it can handle longer patterns very easy.

drill the bite pin over it will go long and just snap on the backend. I had both and when my bit goes high I could switch to the venom and with a speed adjustment be in the pocked. For heavier oil.... Get the bite

Well if the BWS is occasionally grabbing too early then I would have tell you to go with the BWV. The BWB will only be slightly more aggressive than the BWS.

blue, the Venom isn't a pearl.

lefty, if the solid isn't getting down the lanes long enough for you, you have a couple options.  One, depending on how your solid is drilled you could have another drilled with a higher pin OR you could have another drilled the same but keep it polished.  My advice would be to try out a Venom.  It's longer than the solid but can still handle a good amount of oil on a fresh shot.  The Bite is going to move sooner and harder than your solid so that would be out of the question.

I concur.... get the venom ... take it 2000 grit and you 'll be happy. OOB finish with polish and 4000 was too unpredictable

Get the Venom for sure. I have a ton of forward roll, so I ended up drilling mine with the pin a 6 1/4" to my PAP, and MB about 6". The ball gets really nice length easily, and just flips.. Smooth flip, yet hard at the same time.

Great ball!

BTW, Jeff Ussery has told me this ball is a pearl. It is NOT a polished solid, nor does it even react like one. Lol.
