Does anyone on here throw this Ball? What kind of reaction do You get. A lot of backend? Etc.

I want the ball to open up the lane. Where I bowl I can get it to 5 and it will hook back. But My sting is not doing that.

Let see, you have a ball that ideally rolls early, you admit to having no hand and spinning it...... There is no ball for you to open the lane with.

My ball is layed out like this. I am Righthanded. I have the pin a little to the right of the Ring Finger. My rev rate is not a lot. I stand about 25 and try to swing it.

I did not know the Sting was an early hooking ball. Look below for the drilling I have on it. I tend to spin the Ball I think because it is a 14 lb ball and too light. But am afraid to go to 15 because I hurt My hand. But it us better.

If you tend to spin the ball, that ball is most likely drilled to strong for you with the pin to the right of your ring finger. If you truly spin it that puts the pin really close to your axis and your MB probably outside your VAL. This ball most likely sets up and does nothing down lane. You should for sure redrill it with the pin further from your axis and the MB more toward your thumb. This will help get the ball downlane with some energy for when it sees friction. Hope this helps

My guess is... stop trying to swing it, if you don't have the revs, tilt and rotation to do... especially if you can't do so with success.

I know that Brian Halstrom's ball shape looks awesome, but some people, including myself, simply are not capable of creating such angles and shapes on the lane.

I'd suggest buying a Burn instead.  The Shredder reactive coverstock retains an incredible amount of energy considering how strong it is off the dry.  If drilled properly, the Assault core allows for great continuation.  This combination allows me to swing the Burn much more than I should be able to because of my medium rev rate.

Take this suggestion with a huge grain of salt because I don't own a Widow Sting for comparison.

i think they are saying you shouldnt play that deep with the sting because your game is not suited for that line. you are trying to make a ball work where it is not going to

 NO, YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND! ANY ball made COULD play the "whole" lane, depending on the condition and the bowler using it.

 With your "spinner" release, that probably isn't EVER going to be you though, because spinning the ball isn't conducive to hooking it a lot, much less playing the whole lane.

Like Juggernaut said, it isn't usually the ball, it's the bowler who is able to play the whole lane.  Axis tilt, axis rotation, and revs are the key factors in playing the whole lane.  I don't feel the Sting is targeted at the 'Whole lane' reaction, it's a mid-late midlane ball, with a strong backend.

If you simply don't care about the technical reasons you can't hook the lane, and want to know what ball has the best chance, it's probably the Storm Invasion right now.  But layout will be very important for your spinner style.
