Taboo problems,..*pics* of layout

I just bought this ball 4 weeks ago, and ive had nothing but problems getting this ball to hook on fresh oil in  the backend, my league is a 41' house shot...my pro shop guy knows me, how I bowl and all that stuff. I throw a Track Kinetic Pearl and a Morich Awesome Revs, they both seem to react better then this Taboo in oil. I purchased this ball under the impression its a heavy hooking ball. Im thinking maybe its the layout, so heres a picture, maybe someone can shed a little insight on the layout and tell me if that is the problem?

Right off the bat that ball looks polished. I was under the impression the taboo was 2000 grit. Most of a ball's oil handling capability comes from the surface. This ball is nothing more than a medium oil ball if polished, especially if done from the 2000 grit factory finish. Second, in order to determine how that layout will work for you we will at least need to know your positive axis point and ball speed and rev rate.

Yea my proshop guy threw a real quick polish on it, before the polish it still wasnt a hooking monster for me and i had to push farther right then with my morich to get it to come back to the pocket, I dont know my PAP and rev rate off the top of my head...i can find out though..my ball speed is about 16-16.3mph...*Shop guy just messaged me said the ball was drilled for length and control, and that he drills most balls this same way....but that it should still have a nice backend hook*

at this point you have 2 options....1) adjust the surface to get what you are looking for or 2) plug and redrill stronger....IMHO
 
Also, if you relayed the message to your driller that you wanted it to hook, why did he drill it for control?

  Well im not the most experienced bowler and tend to trust my proshop guy and have only had 4 balls drilled, 3 from the same guy...he said he drilled what he thought was best for the way I bowl and for the lanes and that the ball would hook just fine...now im being told to move my feet closer to the middle dot and to slow down my ball speed, i only throw about 16mph..and have never had this problem..this ball is awesome when I do hit the pocket though.

Fresh oil doesn't always mean heavy or medium oil.

If your Pearls are getting more reaction than this ball, it means (IMHO) that the ball is rolling out because you don't have enough oil to handle this ball. Also, the layout is fairly aggressive as well.

 

I'd keep it and use it as a medium/heavy oil ball for when you do run into that condition.

If you toss one of the OTHER balls and it just keeps sliding and NOT hook, then pull this ball outta your bag and it should work just fine..

No middle ground with this ball. Skates in the oil and to hard of the dry. I'm getting mine redrilled, I'll get it back thursday. My ball was drilled 90 degrees with the pin just above the ring finger. Your ball looks to be drilled stronger. I had some great games out of the ball, I just wanted more control out of mine.

I believe the ball is rolling out. The drilling is very Stacked. The track ball you mentioned is a few years old and is not as agressive as this ball. I would suggest to take the shine off the ball and bring it up to 4000 abralon on slow speed on a spinner. Try it out. If it is still to aggressive put the ball back on a spinner at high speed and lean into it to get it to shine with the pad aty 4000.  Should help the ball get through the sry and still have enough reaction.
