Andrew,
Sometimes certain balls just do not work for a person. It happens.
I have also experienced that certain balls, for me, recently, did need 10-20 games to "break-in". This is very unusual in my experience. The balls include a DynoThane Thing and a Morich Hercules. Even small surface adjustments did not make as big a difference. Surface changes were not equivalent to the "break-in", which is even odder.
Also recently, for the Hercules, after drilling it for what I thought should be length and a mild backend, and trying several surface changes, I realized it was not as strong, in its box condition, as I thought it would be. It was far too strong with any dull surface, be it 600 or 1200 grit. So I redrilled it following Morich's Control drilling and BINGO! I got what I needed. Sometimes, you need to follow the instructions. Sometimes you don't need to be creative.
Sooooooo, could it be that this drilling, whatever yours is, it still not conducive or appropriate for your style and your lane condition? I mean, this ball is designed to hook. I am no special fan of Hammer's, but ....
