Widow vs. No Mercy
« on: November 02, 2006, 01:13:27 AM »
OK folks, was fixen to get a Black Widow, then the No Mercy is released. Any got both of these with a good comparison? THS I deal with is usually about 32ft. with buffed backends, not striped, synthetics. Medium revs about 15 mph.

See link of the drillings.

No mercy is aggressive but not snappy. It is a more direct ball and will read midlane more that BW and continue with hard Arc.

Just to give you an idea i was standing 35 with feet and shooting to a Break Point of about 10 last week when i tossed 279-300 back to back. This week the lanes were wetter and the No Mercy I was 20 with feet and using a break point of 5 for the entire night.

Any other questions feel free to contact.

Yeah, I think Nod's got this about right. I would say that the BW and NM have the potential to cover about the same amount of boards on a similar shot with a similar drill... The NM is probably a few boards stronger on most shots, depending on the bowler. But these two balls have a much different shape to their move. I found the No Mercy that I threw at the demo to be about 5 feet earlier with a much smoother shape to the reaction. Keep in mind that I'm a higher rev player, so... Use this as you will.

I just snatched a used one up off the BST fourm, must be my lucky day.it's even drilled just how I wanted it.the widow will work good for heavier patterns if finished in a lower grit.I tried it on mine @ 600 and it had plenty of length with a hard arc on the end.I brought it up to 2000 and had more snap.I'm going to move the widow back to 4000 and use it for more medium oil and hopefully use the no mercy for heavier stuff.untill a pearl widow comes out I have a cobalt bomb that works great for the lighter stuff.I think that about dose it for my go long, hook type stuff,I need to make another ball rack now, LOL.
