question for the hammer heads about Big Deal drilling??
« on: September 07, 2005, 12:17:18 AM »
I just picked up a used Big Deal and was curious what kind of reaction I can expect froma ball drilled this way:

pin directly to the right of the ring. The cg is in the palm area and the mass bias marked HMB is to the left of the thumb at approx 135 degrees (according to the drill sheet)

I am asking because I was hoping to just plug the thumb and move it up about 1/4 inch, but if this layout is not a good one, I will plug the entire ball..

any comments out there??

Hard to tell without knowing your PAP.

For (dare I say it?) most right handers, that's probably drilled for close-to-maximum flare (3 3/8in. pin to PAP distance) with a hook/set backend to control over-reaction.

Anyone feel free to dispute that, as I am no super expert.

Why don't you plug the thumb and if you don't like it's reaction, re-plug the entire ball then?

James,

thats what I am going to do. Plug just the thumb first and try it and then do the entire ball if need be.

Thanks for your comments..
