Post by: Matt Fortney on May 18, 2008, 07:15:12 AM
So...as of right now, we're looking at the BW Venom, Raw Psycho, the Hazard, Emerald Vibe, the Razyr, are we going to see the NM Whup'n soon now or what? Just curious.

The only thing that interests me even a little bit is the Razyr.

the venom makes me wonder,
bigger backend and more length then the pearl
seems too good to be true

Hey Group

In the last month or so I have got 4 new balls and in this order.

1) Black Window Pearl
2) Smokin Inferno
3) Black Window BITE
4) Total Inferno

I bought the Smokin Inferno used from BrunsNick (10 games on it) and the Total Inferno from a friend who I bowl with on my Friday nite leagues so I'm guessing

that the ball has around 20 games on it since it was just to aggressive for him plus he really couldn't control it.

But after throwing the Black Window Pearl during 3 league nites and having such a good time with it I decided to but a mre aggressive Black Widow so thats why

I bought a Black Window BITE. So, I threw it for the first time in league on Friday nite (two nites ago) and I open with a 238, I had a nasty split which cost me a really decent score and then the second game I was clean for a 243, but I had to put it away after the 2nd frame in game 3.

So today during practice with my new BITE I shot my highest series, btw, it was only in practice but good grief it felt good I go 276-231-278 for a 785. The ball feels just great coming off my hand and I love the way it turns in and BITES the lane...a ball could not have been better named

I guess I am saying that I love my new HAMMER gear...freaking sick stuff.

Later All,
      Jake

Jake, nice shootin' ! Nothing Hits Like A Hammer !

Unless they change the pattern next season, not sure if I want or need more length, but I'm sure I'll be adding the Venom to the bag. I know the Psycho will be in there.

I heard the hazard was put on the back burner for now, has anyone else heard that or is there a pic and stats available.

Forward...

As in a later release? That would be alright, maybe right around the beginning of league.

Jeff didn't say when or if it would be released.  He just said it is a ball they are not moving forward with at this point.

That was the one little mysterious ball that really had my attention. I mean with them dicontinuing the whole No Mercy line, I really thought maybe the Hazard might be the next big thing. But hey I guess I can wait.

It is almost shocking to me that we aren't going to have a high performance ball at all to start next season.  We'll see what happens, I guess.

I guess that bothers some but for me the high end balls are a waste of money.  I've made more money using entry level and or mid-priced equipment.  I've also learned that symmetrical core balls seem to be best for me.

I agree with you about entry to mid when bowling on a house shot.  However, I don't really bowl league.  Also, I have very little hand (sometimes I'm afraid the spider in my clear widow will crawl out because it's spinning so slowly) and the symmetrical stuff just doesn't carry well for me on anything besides Cheetah (sometimes) and Viper.

I understand whats said about the "high end" stuff, but to me isn't the Widow line high end enough?

You're probably right.  The Widows are superior products.

The widow line is good but very long, I have med revs and alot of speed and I just need more ball on some of the touney patterns.  I have to use my fury with the pin under to get a good reaction.  I was looking forward to another no mercy or a comparable "Big" ball.

That's bad news.  Balls like the fury are going to be few and far between.  Most people have very little use for a ball that early.

Have you tried a Widow Bite with the Pin under to get it into a real early roll in midlane?

Will that give me a look different than a Total NV pin up, and a Fury pin down? I'm looking for something in between.

Almost definitely.  Keep some surface on the Widow, though.

Put the Widow Bite at 2000 abralon and the pin under. You will love the reaction it will give you.

One of my buddies went 4.5 x 4 pin down on his bite, and then followed it with a 1000 grit pad. That ball is flat out sick in total reaction, it is just way strong, one of the strongest reactions i've ever seen, it out hooks his box finish resurgence with a very similar layout.
