The Vibe Series
« on: March 09, 2012, 11:06:10 PM »
It's no secret that I love my Grape Vibe. I have drilled other pieces and I just keep coming back to this ball...so easy down the lane, smooth off the spot and the hit is what you make of it. Now the question....

I have the ball drilled 55 x 2-3/4 x 25 with a P2 weighthole. I have just acquired a Cherry, an Emerald, a Blue and an Onyx. If I wanted to make an all-Vibe house shot killer arsenal, how do I lay the rest out? I also have a Midnight drilled 60x4x60 with a P3 hole that is silly strong for me...almost uncontrollable.

In case you need my personal specs,

Rev Rate: 350 ish
Ball speed: 16-16.5 at the scanner
Axis Tilt: 11*
Axis Rotation: medium...probably 45-50*

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

id make the blue and black your benchmark balls and put ur favorite benchmark layout on them. id use the blue as "first out of the bag" and black for nights where theres a little more oil than usual. the emerald gets the most length naturally so i would promote that with a longer pin distance higher ratio and larger sum. the cherry could be used in later transition like end of game 2ish so i would go pin up maybe 5" from pap. the progression i am imagining in my head would be blue/black->midnight/grape->red->green.....hope this helps
