Tonight was a good night. We bowl on lanes that are previously bowled on by plastic women bowlers, so we tend to see a smidgen of carry down. I started practice with my Black Widow solid and it was hitting and carrying on the left lane, but on the right lane it just wouldn't move.
The only other ball I had with me was the Black Widow Pearl, so I figured oh heck why not try it. So I did, and got it to move a little bit on the right lane, so I figured well it's not going to be a good night anyways, might as well use the new ball. Just drilled it up 3 weeks ago..this was the third time I've used it. First time at this house.
First game: X X X X X X 6/ X X 9-243
Second game: X X X X X X X X 8/ 9/X -267
Third game: X 8/ X X X X X X X X X 7-277
787 Total. First and Second games first ball in the 10th I left a 7 pin. The only two times of the night I had to use my spare ball. 1 out 2..boooo.
787 eclipses my highest sanctioned series ever of 768, as well as my highest non sanctioned series in a league of 774.
I was playing straight up the 10 board, but also found I had some nice area to the left of 10 as well. The lanes were pretty much dressed perfectly for the way I like to play. Unfortunately for me....I have bad bad nerves...so the 2nd game with the front 8 I could not control myself even though I've shot 300's before. I liked the ball off my hand, but I fluffed it and it didn't make it's way back to the hole.
Over all it was a great night. I won enough to pay off my league, and take my gf to breakfast/dinner after league
I just wanted to share my story with the rest of the hammer heads on the site
Thanks for reading and I hope everyone has a great night!

Thank you very much. I know a 780 isn't really impressive anymore with people shooting huge 800's now a days, but I am very proud of myself. I only have a handful of series over 750, so it was nice to get.
I've been stuck with a high series of 735 at this house for the past three years..so that was special for me too, because I usually don't bowl well there.
(201 career average at this house, before this season)
I was just below 223 going into tonight, so I would expect to see my average to jump up to about 225 or so. It is safe to say the shot is easier now that they put in synthetics, and yes it's a big wall....but I'm still happy

Thanks Matt I appreciate the kind words. Now I have something new to shoot for. To break this career high will almost definately put me in the 800's

Don't be so sure...lol. my high before this season was 779, and i thought the same thing...this year i've shot 4 sets that were 750-779, and 780, 782, 784, and 788. Seems like there's not just a hump to get over....but a wall. lol. It'll come though, for you and I both, hopefully.

Congratulations, I'm not really a Hammer fan, but it's nice when you have equipment that you know fits your game, and you believe in. Very close to that 8, and it will come soon if you stay on this pace.
