Would it be justified to own both of these balls? I have a black widow and was wondering if it would be worth it to pick up the total nv

I have both. I keep my Total NV at 4000+polish and my Widow at 4000 - no polish.
With similar drills, my widow is longer and stronger on the backend then my TNV.
I use my Widow to open up heavy oil patterns and then switch to my TNV once I burn a spot down lane.
Great 1-2 punch if you have enough oil on the lane!

With the drilling and coverstock prep that I use, I actually get the exact opposite reaction than was listed by JMORRIS.
My Widow is drilled with the pin under the ring finger, and the cg kicked slightly right. The coverstock has a light shine to it.
My Total NV has the pin high above the ring finger with the cg mostly stacked.
For me, the Total NV goes about 2-3' longer and is a bit sharper at the breakpoint. It is fairly quick whereas the BW has a strong but more smooth and rounded move to it.
So, I guess to answer your question, yes, there are certainly situations in which both the TNV and BW can be effectively used within the same arsenal.

What if I was to put the same layout on each ball? Im thinking a 5 x 4 layout
