Need a comparo
« on: September 20, 2007, 12:28:38 AM »

I'm not familiar with Hammer reactions but have used Ebo for quite some time. I have two TNVs at the moment and am wondering about the difference in reaction between the TNV and the Hammer No Mercy BeatN. Can someone give me the difference in length, reaction, etc?

You'll see similar hook shape, but the Beat'n should go a touch longer then react depending on surface prep and drilling, of course.

Actually, that is what I am looking for. I need the reaction a bit further down but just as, if not more than, the TNV.

Don't laugh too hard.

Beat'N has white grips and is OOB w/ light coat of Bean's Sauce and 4 1/2" Pin to PAP
Total NV has orange grips and is 2000 w/ Bean's Sauce 3 3/8" Pin to PAP

Both on a freshly oiled house shot.

Order of the shots are:

B-B-T-T-T-T-T-B-B-S-B (B=Beat'n, T=TotalNV, S=Smokin' Inferno)

How about Hammer coverstock compared to Ebo. I still get cover death with Ebo regardless of what ball it is. Everything I get from Ebo dies quickly.

Greg, i've had great success with the Raw Hammer Series covers lasting a long time.  However each of the No Mercy's I had did drop off in reaction after the 150 game mark.  Still a very good ball but very high maintenance.

At this point I would be damned happy to see 150 games. My Ebo stuff is good for 30 to 40 and no amount of maintenance can extend that. Nobody cares for equipment any better than I do and I cant make the Ebo stuff last. Ticks me off too because I absolutely LOVE Ebo's reaction. They fit my game perfectly. BUT, I am not going to keep buying 3 balls per league per season.

Currently, i have twp TNVs. One has about 35 games and the other about 10. Sames specs, same layout. The old one is a good down and in or up the track ball, while the other is still capable of deep inside the 4th or 5th arrow with excellent recovery. I know for a fact that I only have few weeks left of this reaction and then it's order time. Thats why I'm looking into Hammer. Looks like they have about the type of reaction.

I've heard that if you shift the CG from positive to negative, you can get around 2 feet difference!  Of course if you average and plot the reactions on in CATS you will get the same exact reaction.  I wonder if you average and plot the reactions of the NM and TNV if you'd get the same exact line as well?
