I Need A Ball For Dry Lane Conditions. I Need Help.
« on: October 31, 2006, 05:37:51 AM »
Right now the two current balls that I use are The Ebonite V2 Strong/R and The Doom Raw Hammer. What I need is a ball that is good for dry lane conditions because the place where I bowl the lanes have been pretty dry all year. I was thinking about getting The Blue Vibe. What do you guys think?

The Blue Vibe is definetly no DRY lane ball. I would say a Purple Vibe drilled kinda weak, should work out pretty well.

Hope this helps

From ebonite/hammer, I would look at a cross fire, blue ice or one of the vibes...

Grab a vibe and a bottle of delayed reaction OR some extender polish.  The polish will make a big difference in the balls reaction.

There is a guy on my team that has better than average rev rate who could not keep a 10 year old Super Flip 3-D Hammer right of the head pin.  We drilled up a Blue Ice pin above the bridge with the cg kicked out slightly and a miniscule weight hole on the midline.  OOB, this ball went 50 feet before it did anything.  The polish that Ebonite uses at the factory (Factory Finish) is known to make the ball want to go REALLY long.  We hit the surface with 1000 abralon, no polish and the ball is nothing short of amazing.  It gets rolling at about 42 feet at makes the most subtle smooth reaction you have ever seen with pretty decent hiiting power.  For those of you not aware, the Blue Ice has a slightly weaker version of the V2 Sanded cover and a lower flaring core.  GREAT combo for lighter conditions.

Purple Vibe.  Depending on your axis rotation, maybe a Burgundy Pure.

Good Luck,
