Title: Turbo Diesel OOB surface?
Post by: dizzyfugu on May 08, 2011, 11:51:43 PM
Hi, topic says it all - just a quick question, since I cannot find useful information: does anyone know what the OOB surface of the Turbo Diesel (Power Whip solid reactive) was/is? I'd assume it came sanded - 1.000 grit, maybe?

Many thanks in advance!

I got one for a friend and I'm trying to think what it was ....
I believe it was a solid/pearl combo, sanded to 1000 grit US/CAMI (Back then they were not using Abralon yet).

I'll double check my old BTM issues. get back to you later.

Reviewed June 2003.
Finish is listed as "1000 grit". I'm still assuming US/CAMI grading, which is equivalent to P2000 grit  FEPA.

Ball tested as equally good for heavy and medium oil back then.
Torque was 5.5 so it would very even reacting back then.
Total hook was fairly strong - 50

It doesn't specifically say solid/pearl but I seem to remember that. It came dull, so you wouldn't see the pearlization as well as if you had polished it.
