Tweaking the Stock on a Road Hawg
« on: February 20, 2006, 01:56:40 PM »
I have a Road Hawg, and it's pretty much uncontrolable for me with the OOB finish. I'd like to put a small amount of polish on it, but I'm not sure how to besides with a ball polisher that they have at the bowling alley.

Is it better to sand it down, then polish it or what?  I have no clue so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Hit it with some Brunswick Rough Buff compound.  It will get it a little further down the lane and give it a more controlled but harder arc on the back.

i had the same problem with my road hawg at first  after about 2 games  of total unpredictability i took it back to the shop and hit ti with 1000 grit....  this still gave me some length with a more controlled breakpoint

i would try that before polishing the ball....

I would recomend using Ebonites Power house products on your Hammer equipment.
Some ball finishes don't react well with Hammer's coverstocks.

I, personally, just used a light amount of Factory Finish polish and lightly applied it with a ball spinner.

I would suggest that you DO NOT use the "luster king" at the center.   This polish is a waxy substance that is meant mainly for Rubber and plastic balls.
