Have not thrown them, but after talking to the Hammer folks, Anger for more "arc" No Mercy Beat'n for more backend. You're talking apples and oranges here due to the way the cores are designed, depends on which you want...arc or skid/flip.

HEY JOHNNY!

The No Mercy Beat'n will handle oil better than the Anger.

The Anger however is a ball that since I've thrown it has become the 'all around ball' in my arsenal. I can use it on just about any condition except the extreme 'slick' and extreme dry.

I agree with Roger on his assessment. The Beat'n was designed to go longer and react stronger on the back than its predecessor (the No Mercy) and the Anger gives you an archy type reaction. Hope this helps! God Bless You and have a great week!

The No Mercy Beat'n features the same HART concept core found in the original No Mercy.

The Original BW & NM or the new Anger are your Hammer choices for long, heavy oil! Because the NM beat'n is a Pearl w/flip pancake, it will work on long heavy oil provided the oil does not carry down, but here in the real world, this ball is a Strong Medium oil ball!

No flip block added, it's the same core, just a bad drawing of the core.

I really don't care what the link says, 2007-2008 Pro Shop Buyer's Ball Guile syas..." Featuring the HEART core concept and new Violent Hook Reactive coverstock....."

No where is mentioned a flip block, the picture does not show a flip block. I'll stay with the Buyer's Guide, as it came from Ebonite.

BTW, I do like the new format they used  for all companies they own now.

I have two Beat'n bowling balls and it is not a pearl.  I seen discussion that a flip block was added, that would make sense because it is longer and stronger then the NM, but the picture that came with the ball didn't show a flip block and the description of the ball said it had the same weightblock ad the NM.

The added length and flip are due to the coverstock, which is NOT the BWP cover. There is also no additions to the core.

Which ball is Better for heavier oil all depends on what type of reaction your looking for.  These two balls are very different.  The NMB has more length and back end than the ANGER.  The ANGER has more mid-lane and arc type back end.  The ANGER is very strong and works great on heavier/longer oil patterns.

I found this on Buddies pro-shop site.  They say the Beat'n has a flip block.  I was always under the impression it has the flip block.  Maybe Buddies is wrong?

Flip block is a possibility but it is not a pearl. Mine is 4000 dull. I don't see any indication of pearl in the coverstock.
