Title: Vintage Hammer
Post by: wolfspiritky on May 24, 2013, 11:43:15 PM
I have an old Hammer. I bought it used in 94-95. It is a dull, light to medium purple.

Can anyone tell me the name of this ball? I would like to find another one or, better yet, know if it is possibly a "remake".

There is two Purple Hammer release in 91 and Purple Reactive in 94. Check in Bowlingballvault.com

What does the label (where the cg is) look like?

If there is a logo like the first image on the ball near the gripping holes, it's a Purple Hammer (urethane)...

If the logo is in a similar spot and it's like the last image, then its a Purple Reactive Hammer.  High RG, low diff "lightbulb" core and a coverstock that probably doesn't do much on todays slick oils and hard synthetic lanes.

Neither of the two were remakes... Only the Black and Blue urethane hammers were ever remade by Faball, if I recall correctly.

It's marked with the first image J_mac posted...kinda looks like a bullseye.

I find this ball very useful on the currant lanes I'm bowling on.

I would love to find one in better conditions to have plugged and drilled for me.
