For me, I see more overall hook in the Burgundy than my ALF solid (midlane & backend finish). I kept both balls at box surface and see that both balls compliment each other very well. The ALF solid is about 5-7 boards weaker, but smoother in the backends.
The difference in the ALF solid & the original ALF, is that the solid really blends the lanes more than the original which was a pearl version. The coverstock on the new ALF solid really gets through the fronts & tames down the end of the pattern better than the original which I loved! This ball replaced one of my original ALF, and I put my original ALF with 500 w/ FF polish so I use it when the lanes get ugly in later shifts/tournaments...
