Tired of seeing TOXICS
« on: December 05, 2006, 02:05:44 PM »
Hammer has been making lots of great equipment this season, but the bandwagon is getting rediculous.  There is a Toxic on every rack even the Hammer tried making it as hideous as possible.  Does this ball warrant this type of following?  I've thrown  one and personally I think the Doom was a better ball.
I guess when you have home runs like the Black Widow and the No Mercy, people will buy anything with a Hammer logo on it.

actually the Toxic is a great ball, it is slightly different than the doom and honestly when i first drilled my Toxic i was not a fan of how it rolled and hit,

after getting about 10 games on it, it definitely rolls great and hits like a beast, has a more consistent roll than the Doom as advertised and yeah its bright green, brings nostalgia of the Green Bolt from Storm, or of the original Nitro/R. Its awesome... there is nothing wrong with this ball, Hammer is making great equipment all around, from the Vibes and up. Sorry if you do not like your Toxic, maybe try a different layout or cover prep, honestly give this ball a chance its a good one

Drilled 2 last night. One guy loved his and the other said the span was to long lol. His fault not mine, he didnt wanna go get his ball and he said he new his cut lines. Well turns out he didnt after all and what he gave me was his full grip measurements so its about an 1/8 to long on both fingers.

But the ball looks to read the mids alot better than I thought it would and has great continueation through the rack.

The Toxic is the best of the bunch IMO.. I tried 2 Dooms and never liked the reaction of either one. The Toxic is a very smooth rolling and is not jerky like the Black Widow (Which I didn't care for either)..

To say people are trying the Toxic because of the Black Widow and NO mercy is just not true.. Hammer has been making some great equipment for several years..

After listening to Hammers ball designer (Ron Hickland) at a recent seminar, I will be trying everything they come out with because IMO, they are way ahead of the game right now as far as technology and R&D..

We sold out of them last night before we could even get them out of the cases. The last one sold as we put it in the display before league. The main selling point seemed to be the colors.

I bought the first and only one that one of my local proshops had in stock last Wednesday night.  Not even sure if he has anymore in stock, but I'm sure it's something he'll order more of.  He really liked what he saw out of the ball on their fresh shot.

Color sells, but the ball still has Hammer written all over it.

if you were any kind of professional, you would've taken new measurements like any real driller. my guy doesnt drill anything unless he has the bowler's specs on file, or he takes new measurements.

There are 39 boards on a lane, crossing 38 of them doesn't make you good....it makes you a moron.

Well never claimed to be a proffesional. Proffesionals get paid to drill I dont unless I am scheduled to work the shop. I am glad your guy takes the time to get new measurements and go off of spec sheets its the proffesional thing to do. Down here we have the saying "span no matter" kinda like cg no matter lol.

I REALLY like the colors of this ball, but the only thing is if they would have used just A LITTLE MORE silver and a little less green.

I am in agreement on the fault of the bowler.  Regardless of Tech Support being paid or unpaid, if a span fits and you are comfortable with it, I really don't want to have someone remeasure me and run the risk of not getting it right.  I would say it's the bowlers fault for not taking the 2 minutes to go and get the ball to ensure the correct fit....or pay the piper for making a guess on his own span.
