No Mercy Cover
« on: December 12, 2006, 09:08:19 AM »
Has anyone else noticed, or should I say is this happening to anyone else.  My no mercy is tracking up way faster than my other equipment.  I have approx 30 games on it on all synthetic lanes and it has a noticeable track, I just thought it a bit odd as I have over 100 games on My epic and it has a barely noticeable track on it.  Maybe a softer cover????

But I am not complaining.  i have not had under 660 with it and have a 300 and 299 already with it.  Awesome ball by all means......

Well remember this, the ball is dull, you will get more oil soaking in the cover and the cover is made to suck oil in, its much like the covers on the one series balls from ebonite (company that makes hammer) so the ball will track up. You might want to lightly hit the surface with an abrasive to get the grit back to OOB and every 50 games or so give it a hot water bath to remove water.

Ebonite does not make hammer. They have similar R&D teams but different machines and different resins for eachother.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i've heard from many people that thus far have known what they talked about and when Hammer was bought out by Ebonite, Ebonite started to manufacture the hammer balls. And there R&D teams work together and they use similar (tweaked versions) of each others coverstocks. Now that may be wrong but its what i've been hearing for some time.

The following balls have similar covers to the Ebonite GB Coverstocks:

Black Widown
No Mercy
Pain
Road Hawg
Toxic

Not the exact same covers, but similar formulations.  You can definately tell they have similar feels, characteristics, and attributes.  Reps from both companies have told me that.
