The problem is I don't have the kind of technical information many of you seem to carry around to describe your bowling style. I don't know anything about how my present balls or drilled, nor do I know for sure whether I'm a stroker or what. (If I had to guess, I'd say I were a tweener...I put some juice on the ball, but I certainly don't crank the ball like some I've seen.) Again, of course, I dont' really know much about my revs, though if I had to guess, I'd say I have low revs. I've only been really bowling for about two and a half years and I carry an average of 165. In my bag I have a Matrix Trimax, an Addiction, and a Sling Blade. I use the Trimax 98% of the time, mostly due to the fact that I feel most comfortable with it, it just seems to fit my hand better and comes off right. (All three were drilled by the same guy w/ the same specs at hand, so I don't necessarily understand that either.)
Anyhow, I've been getting lessons and I really feel like I"m ready to go to the next level in my game. I'm understanding things better and getting a better feel for the ball. The problem is I don't think the Trimax is really doing it for me any longer. It seemed to work well for me when I was throwing more up the middle on a tighter angle to the pocket, but it's not working right for me as I try to move outside. I'd like something more aggressive, but at the same time I'd like a ball I could use as "the first ball out of the bag." Something that works in a few different lane conditions and has a more aggressive hook than the trimax. I still have my very first ball, a red hammer, and I've always liked the line.
When I asked my coach, he recommended one of the Deal balls, I dont' remember if it was the Real Deal or the Big Deal, though I think it was the latter. Anyone else have any thoughts for this clueless fledgeling?
