when is hammer or ebonite going to release a urethane i mean with all these other companies releasing them they cant hold out much longer and personally thats all i need in my arsenal here in southern illinois. so when are they going to make the move and produce one aswell.

The problem is I don't think there is that large of a market for urethane. Companies have released them over the past few years and not many people have bought them.

Just like a few years ago (2002-2005ish) when the lefty was on tv throwing the original urethane Blue Hammer/Faball. A little buzz came of the guy throwing urethane and winning then it was gone. Saw a few of the originals on ebay NIB sale kinda high and that was it.

If Hammer does it would be great to see another Hammer Blue Urethane with the gas mask core. It just seems the market is too small for these bowling balls, but time will tell.

i know that and i am drilling a razyr this friday and i hope to get a boom drilled to roll early and tame the backends is just saying that it would be nice to see a solid urethane again in the ebonite/hammer lineup

Smash is early, smoother and less hook. Try that instead of the Boom which is flippier.

I was talking to Chad Murphy, the Columbia brand manager, and he said there wasn't a big enough market for Columbia to keep producing a urethane ball, so I bet that's across the board with Ebonite owning all of them!

They weren't so "PURE" but both were very good balls, IF you recognized them for what they were.

Second that (and I still have and love my black one). Both balls were intended to "simulate" a smooth urethane reaction. But both were stronger than expected my many players. I remember some players with the black one around cursing it for its hook - it was by no means a dry lanes ball. Smooth, but rather for light to medium conditions. The later red one was even stronger, a real resin ball.

Anyway, I think that such a ball is simply lacking in Hammer's arsenal, for years. You only get hookers or snappy pieces, I think the Cherry Vibe has been the weakest thing with a true core. The Razyr might fill the dry lane ball gap, but it just has a pancake. I'd love to see a thing like the black Pure Hammer again - a ball with a true low RG core (the PHs had the original Hammer/Blade core), maybe the Vibe core, and then add a smooth (hard) cover that can be sanded but still gets through the heads. Would be a great addition.

BTW - Ebonite released some Maxim's with Hammer logos on them. A bowling distributor here in Germany has them, but I have never seen them officially on sale. Maybe overseas stuff for Asia?
