Pain vs Nemesis/Wizard
« on: September 14, 2006, 10:05:03 AM »
How does the Pain compare to the Nemesis/Wizard?

I already have a Nemesis and am thinking about getting a Wizard (to try a different drilling), but I've heard good things about the Pain/Doom combo.

Since they are both "mid-priced" balls, have a symmetric core, both are advertised as medium oil balls, and have similar RG/Diff numbers (Pain: 2.52-2.57/0.047 vs. Wizard: 2.536-2.58/0.044), I figured they might provide similar reactions.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure about the wizard but the Pain is an awesome solid reactive ball.  It can handle a good amount of oil.  It's a very strong ball and depending on the drilling can work very well on tough patterns.

Another good thing about it is it's made in the U.S.A.

Good comparison. I own both a Nemesis (a.k.a "Wizard") and 2 Pains and you're right about their characteristics being similar. I think the Pain rolls a bit earlier and flips a bit harder in the backend (depending of course on the drilling)....a really nice combination of power and length.

Either choice would be a good one. I know this, my Pain drilled stacked leverage hits like a mac truck! In fact, sometimes I wish it wasn't so aggrssive (that's the reason I bought another and drilled it for length and a slightly milder backend).
