Got my C-Plus (15 lbs.) yesterday and had it drilled so that the pin was under the ring finger and the C.G. kick out to give me 1/2 to 3/4 side and 1/4 thumb wgt. (No Weight Hole) The ball was amazing  and eye blowing as it came off of the break point. I was able to play up the boards (5 to 3 board area), I also played around 13 to 10 and out to 7 to 5 and carry the rack. I then moved deeper on the lane around 15 to 14 at the arrows and sending the ball out to 10th board and still carry the rack. I then got adventurous and move even deeper, crossing 20 out to 12, while keeping the ball low and bring my aim point(My hitting area) closer to me and was able to carry three out of five strikes. (At 59, I don't have too much hand in the ball) This ball will be the one that I pull out of the bag first and read off of it. If you're looking for a versital, low particle, medium to light heavy oil condition ball with a very impressive backend reaction, get yourself a C-Plus and then enjoy your summer league bowling.

Quick review on the Lane1 Carbide Plus.

Got a long pinned Carbide plus from Max @ Bowling Balls Australia.

Drilled the ball 4.75 by 4.5, with no XH. The pin ended up just above the ring finger. Ball is still currently box finish.

I chose this ball/layout combination, as I wanted a clean revving ball, that would break hard enough at the end of longer patterns to carry corners more consistently than my old World Class Particle. I wanted more overall hooking potential, as well as more backend reaction.

Apparently, I got the right ball/layout combo right

I've used it on a number of patterns, and its actually an extremely impressive piece. Its versatility and ability to play different lines is awesome! Carry is second to none, and its smooth even ROLL, with strong grab on the back reminds me alot of what I have seen with the c300 action max, but the C+ seems to have more continuation. It handles medium heavy to heavy very well, but can be used with good speed on mediums playing the swinging shot. Forget dry...

Extremely impressive piece. I wonder if Lane#1 really do have something going with this diamond core theory?

I plan to order another one, and hit it with a light layer of polish just to see how much backend potential this little puppy has

Solid effort by Lane#1!

Ball came with 1 inch pin, 3oz top weight, 15.5lbs, drilling in profile.

I had bought this ball for use on heavy oil, mainly for those longer sport shots. This ball has yet to disappoint me. The ball has great carry, and the most backend  reaction out of any ball i've owned. It handles heavy oil without a sweat and is very predicatble.  A 10/10 for this ball

Layed this out identical to my Tsunami.  Pin just below the ring, x-hole near my pap in a levergaed setup. Box finish.

I knew this ball was touted to read the oil early so I immediately moved right to get in deeper.  Although the Sunday shot wasn't heavy, I could immediately see where this ball would perform well on the juice.  Reads early, but still retains pop.  8 of out 10 soley because it is more condition specifc than most.

There is nothing bad that i can say about this ball. I could go anywhere on the lane and have a nice shot where as other people throwing other equipment like storm, track, ebonite, morich they were all struggling while i was throwing up big numbers. This is the ball i threw my FIRST 300 with. I still can't get over the hitting power this ball has.

My second Carbide+:

Layout (roughly):

.O__O
.....PIN
....CG
.....
....
..O

Style:
Stroker 13-15mphs  med revs

Ball:
15lbs, 1"pin 3/4 finger 3/8 sideweight
OOb with handpolish (just a tad... no shine!)

Condition A:
38ft, broader THS with more oil
Best line:
over 10 out... almost down and in
Reaction:
the ball grabs the lane early and has a smooth transition down the lane and  shows a nice smooth arc but has not the

oil-eater-capabilities as expected. I rate it a med-med-heavy ball. Not the oiler it was meant to be.

Fresh lanes: good reaction. Controllable 9/10
slightly worn: Ball starts to burn up. Moving deeper with this layout is not giving room for outside misses but still works
Worn'n'torn: Forget it! The soft Coverstock with the higher particle load needs oil nevertheless

Conclusion:
I wanted a controllable predictable ball with a strong midlane but not rolling too early and got it. I would have liked it

to be stronger overall but it is good as it is

Condition B:
36ft narrow THS with good headoil but lighter midlane and sqeaky dry backends. Outer 7 not oiled and bone dry
Best line:
play around 15 at the arrows not more out than 10 and mind the speed.
Reaction:
Outside shots burn up and carry suffers Inside missed shots means brookly or noseshot. This ball moves!
Again nice smooth transition through the midlane into a very strong backend with tendency to burn up.
Speed is important - then it rips... it will make its move then if slightly missed outside.

Fresh lanes: Playable with good result for maybe 4 games... maybe more if one can get deeper with more backend... I am working on that and the ball works even then
slightly worn: On those lanes it gets tricky finding the oil for this ball. Can be played but really tends to burn up too

early
Worn'n'torn: Are you kidding me?

Overall I give the ball out of 10:

8 for versatility... could be better .. layout is the thing I guess. It does not like too much oil and tends to skid then.
9 for roll and ability to handle carrydown - I wanted this
0 backend... this ball has almost no real backend for me
9/10 for impact into the pins

light hits carry better than heavy ones

This ball is interesting as I already have seen with my first C+ but now it has the midlane the old on lacked and needed to

adjust the coverstock back then. This time it's not necessary. And as the Coverstock is really soft keeping the ball dull

is a pain... I can see the track getting shiny already... but as long as it works.. why bother.

Sumup:
Strong midlane
Good on oilier but not on too oily conditions and
Very good handling carrydown.

Smooth.

little update

The lanes get slick and ugly with hot weather and high humidity... I alsosuspect the staff not cleaning the backends that well.

Well I went right into the problem that the ball skidded through today.

I pulled out a red pad and a grey one and dulled the ball by hand on the lanes between frames and it grabbed tha midlane then and made still a nice strong move on the backend. Not rolling out or burning up.

so if there is too much oil for the ball to handle OOB or slightly polished (as was mine) ... do not be afraid to scuff it up a tad or more. It takes coverstock changes well and with my layout still remains enough pop on the backend to carry even very light hits.

And that on a slick and carried down lane where my particle pearl skidded through leaving tzhe headpin!

The C+ is not a bad ball... it can work on oil if the drilling and the coverstock adjustments are set right.

I will leave it dull as it compliments my Machine (my med particle pearl ball) very well.

only drawback is that I can see the ball getting shiny again just after 8 games. tzhe coverstock is so soft it polishes on the lanes.

I will update this review as soon as it has reached the 50 games and how the coverstock has changed... and how the impact on ball reaction is.
