This is the first Buzzsaw I feel I know well enough to review.  I've thrown other people's Buzzsaws and they all roll too hard for my personal taste. My friend's XXXL was drilled almost 12:00 leverage and he let me use it so I tried it for a set and here's what I got to say:

Positives:
- This plastic ball flares.  If you just look at the flare and not the overall hook of the ball you'd think it was particle.
- It has tremendous hitting power.  On fresh oil, I was pointing up the 1,2,3 (i.e. the dry part of the lane) and I was locked into the pocket.  With every other plastic I've thrown if I mis-hit it even a tiny bit it was a guaranteed 5-7 or 8-10; Not with this ball. It drives through the nickel no problem

Negatives:
- Poor carry percentage.  Because it's plastic it goes really long and needs to be played on a very direct line to the pocket. The result of that was almost always a ringing 10 on the flush hits and when I stuffed it a little tighter the result was almost always a 4 pin. It's very hard to create proper entry angle with this ball.
- Condition specific.  Will only work on really dry conditions.  That's it

Overall impressions: A great ball for toast when everything else is standing up at the arrows. Also this is a ball that will keep you lined up to the pocket all night so it might be good for those sport shots as well. On any normal condition this is probably just another spare ball.  IMO the old Thunder Flash from Storm was a better overall ball for those who want non-reactive/non-particle covers with stong, flaring cores.

My XXXL is 16lbs, 2-3" pin out, and it was drilled label.  I don't need anything special on this, because it's a spare/dirt shooting ball.  When I actually throw this ball I do score quite well considering it's plastic.  I have used this on reverse blocked conditions, pointing the ball through the oil and shooting my all time reverse block high game. (258)  It also makes second shift or torn up desert conditions a breeze because you can play the track without over reaction.  A very good plastic ball that reacts like a weak resin overall.

In my search for a dry lane ball, the XXXL was suggested several times so when this one arrived with a 3" pin, 3.3 top weight and some scuff marks. Rather than make a big deal out of it and send it back, I drilled it.

I laid this ball out 4x4 and it needed a weighthole which was put slightly below my PAP since the ball had a hair of thumb weight after drilling.

Right after I drilled it I had the perfect opportunity to use it. I had a 2nd shift shot with some open bowling on it...PERFECT!!!!

Well this ball is incredible for plastic. I warmed up with my Big Hit and had to stand 25 and throw 15 out to like 5 to hold pocket but I had no room for error in my speed.

I was able to stand 22 and play a 8 to 5 swing with the XXXL and it arced in sooo hard and shattered the rack. For those guys saying the hit is not there with this ball, I say use it on the intended condition.

3 game with the Big Hit...165, 180, 190
3 games with the XXXL...235, 202,195

There is no jumpiness, no unexpected surprises...just a smooth, hard roll into the pocket.

I have NEVER seen plastic hit like this.

AWESOME ONE LANE 1 !!!!!!! Now...how about a urethane????

Plain and Simple this is the hardest hitting Polyester ball ever made. Got mine about 5 weeks ago, and used it sparingly the first couple of weeks. Then decided one night I was just going to use it and use it all night and see what happens. Finally got comfortable with the reaction the second game, 180, 235, 239, 654. The last 3 weeks, 706, 701, 710, this plastic monster goes long turns the corner and destorys the rack time after time, I have left more 7 pins & 9 pins then 10's with this ball. If your bowling on the dry and everything you have hooks early and often, this is the ball for you !!!!!

Just a word to the wise.....This is not a dry lane ball, this is an extreme dry lane ball.  Most of the time it can easily be used as a spare ball, does not hook when shooting at a 10 pin, but when the lane condition permits this ball hits as well as any reactive or particle strike ball.  Had it drilled leverage to get as much out of it as I could, and I'm glad I did.  I've been waiting for a plastic ball with a weight block for some time and Lane #1 finally came through.  I will primarily be using this ball as a spare ball, but when things get ugly late in a tournament or if I hit that occassional league pair that they forgot to oil, this ball will be a big advantage I believe.  Good job Lane #1.

This is a very interesting ball. My bowling profile is: righthander Speed 15-17mph, average revs, can play the twig and can play 5th arrow.
 I've had this ball for two weeks, 1st week practiced about 20 games, 2nd week 14 games of league and a tournament. I averaged 234 in practice and 220 in live action.
 With this ball I played the outside part of the lane 4-7 board. I could hit the pocket all night with minor adjustments only. (I felt like a lefthander). Playing this part of the lane I got good ball reaction and by playing this part of the lane my pin carry increased quite a bit. The ball made a nice move towards the pocket without any over reaction. The strong core and the strong layout really helped with the carry. I adjusted the coverstock by wet sanding to 1500 grit and than using clean and dull. This treatment stop the ball from skating, and made the ball more useable and not for dirt conditions only.
 What I like the most about this ball it kept me in the pocket leaving easy spares, no wicked splits , no large adjustments to stay in the pocket. This ball is a real sleeper. Highly recommended.

I have been looking for this ball for 10 years!!  This ball is awesome.  This ball hits like a ton and carries well when the back ends are dry.  I just got back from ABC nationals and I used this ball as a strike and spare ball for most of my games.  Everyone who knew I was using it kept asking me that's a plastic ball.  The way it can carry off hits and crushes solid pocket shots.  I have this ball drilled stacked with the pin below my ring finger.  I had trouble getting most of my equipment to the breakpoint.  I was able to line up with this ball.  This ball was very even arcing and as long as there was backends I could use it.  I am left handed, 16-18 MPH ball speed able to throw 1st to 6th arrow.  Can very revs depending on lane conditions.  When I back off revs with some balls I have trouble carrying. This ball allows me to hit the ball normally and not jump at the end.  I would recommend this ball to anyone who has trouble keeping the ball on their side of the lane when it is dry.  10 out of 10 for me.

I have been drooling at the thought of a plastic ball with a dynamic core. When I heard that Lane #1 was going to put one in production, I jumped right on it. I needed a new spare ball, but more importantly I needed something to get through torched lanes that I run into occationally at tournaments. I recieved my XXXL and immediatly drilled it up. I figured I only live once so I stacked the ball 3 3/8" strong. Had to put a 1" hole on my axis to take it back to to 1/2 positive. This is a technological wonder. I took it out on conditions that weren't ran in a week, oil was no where to be found on the lanes. I was able to stand on 20 hit 10 at the breakpoint without loosing pin carry or having the ball over hook on me. I was in awe. Even shooting my 10 pins or other various spares, the XXXL rolled very true and dead on straight. Here's a quick story about my XXXL..... About a week after I drilled my XXXL up I went to a tournament where everything was flying right out of the gate. I tried to fight the condition with my Zone X low diff, but that was even taking off at around 35 feet. I pulled out my XXXL stood 40 with my feet hitting 10 at the breakpoint and I was on fire. The last three games of the tourney I shot 670....not to shabby for a plastic ball.....if you have any questions feel free to email me.....Good Luck and Good Bowling.

I am not into ball tech, but did want to report my findings with this ball.
     I bowl on a late league where the lanes are drying as we start and continue to dry out as we go. I have carried my lowest ave in this league of the 6 leagues I bowl every wk.
    I have tried a polished urethane and different plastics, but to no avail. While I can get those balls to the pocket, they do not have enough punch to carry.
    The XXXL was suggested to me and having nothing to lose, got one. Strong drill, 41/2x3 with cg out. Only 14lb.  I was amazed at how this ball carries. I am no better at getting to the pocket than I was with other balls, but the difference is carry.  Instead of deflecting as my other balls did, this ball cuts on thru the pins.
     With this ball, I will soon get my ave up in this league to match my other averages.
   I am not in the habit of recommending balls to anyone, but I will make an exception where this ball is concerned.  It is a must for those who have been fighting dry lanes.  Bones

Bought this used off of ebay-----
 16 lbs-unsure of pin measurement-set up max leverage-pin is below ring finger and balance hole is to the right of thumbhole.I left the cover alone.
 On dry lanes this ball works wonders-----pins stay low and straight back into the pit. Carry is very good as long as you don't try to over throw this ball. If you throw it wrong it will tell you instantly.It simply will not give you a good reaction if you do that. A miss outside by a board or two will give you a good reaction as long as you get out of it correctly. A one board tug will hold pocket. Ten pins are makeable with this ball.
 This is a good ball when they're fried or for weekend practice when most centers don't oil the lanes. It's also a good practice ball as I said before because any mechanical flaw will give you a bad reaction and instant feedback.
 The owner of the lanes where I bowl and his son are getting one of these because of watching how well I've done with this ball. Right after I got it back from redrilling to fit me 209-225-220 on fresh league shot. Next week when lanes dried out threw 205 -214-258.
 A very versatile addition to my bag and would recommend this ball very highly.

I just got this ball. I picked it up for 40 bucks out of the proshop barely used, Not a scratch on it.

Anyway, There isn't a whole lot to say about a plastic ball in most cases, they go straight, and hopefully hit the pins you want to take out. this plastic ball is a little different. Not only does it have the patented lane 1 core in it, on dry lanes it will give you a modest 5-10 board hook.

My xxxl hits harder than any plastic ball I have ever seen, almost as hard as my Inferno. I can't think of a better ball to use for spares, or on dry lanes.

If you get the chance and you are looking for a plastic ball, look no further, this IS the best plastic ball on the market.

Bought a brand new, 15 pound XXXL for a drier house where I've REALLY been struggling.  Had problems keeping almost all of my reactive balls on the right side of the headpin at this house (including a storm hit and a hammer sling blade) so I thought that I'd give the XXXL a shot.  Heck, I've been known to throw my Maxim there (with mixed results) so I figured the XXXL must be better than that.

The XXXL is a great looking ball out of the box.  Drilled up 12:00 with the pin above the fingers (5 - 6" from the PAP).  I was going to black out the yellow labels, but this ball revs up very well, making the yellow labels look great going down the lane.

The XXXL is very impressive on dry conditions.  Great length and a strong, yet controllable back end.  Hit and carry are very good on this condition.  This ball is the answer for me on drier lanes, but keep in mind that I have a stronger release and slower speed (think: urethane release).  

But what has really impressed me is how this ball works on oil!  I pulled this ball out in a league at my normal house just to try it out, and I haven't used another ball for the past month!  Just moved way right, and this ball reads the track great.  Carries and hit on this condition are excellent.  I only make a couple of small adjustments a night (2-3 boards, instead of the usual 5-10) and this ball stays in the pocket.  

Conclusion: Great ball for me and probably a very good choice for other slower speed bowlers with stronger releases.  Might not work as well for medium-faster speeds and/or lower-average revs.  Much more versatile than expected.  Even though it cost $170+, a great value since I assume it won't "die", and therefore it should have a much longer life than many of my reactives.

I've had this one for quite a while now, and I can't believe that it's taken me this long to post a review. The XXXL is mostly my spare ball, as I don't have the hand to make it work as a go-to ball on most occasions. Still, this ball is the best option that you're going to find as a combo spare ball and burnt lane option. As a spare ball, it does exactly what you'd expect out of plastic--it goes straight and it really sends pins deflecting everywhere.  I've picked up a lot of strange leaves by sending pins off of the curtain and side boards with this bad dog. As a strike ball, this one is a great option if you've got a ton of hand, the lanes or burnt or if you want something that will offer you some predictability. Like any ball, you have to get the ball to hit at the right angle or you will ring corners all day. But this ball hits decidedly harder than other plastic on light hits, and its drive through the hole on pocket shots is much stronger as well. This is another great product from Lane 1. It sucks to pay double the cost of normal plastic, but you truly get double the results. If you need plastic, this is the best option you're going to find.

It's drilled to go long, pin is above the ring finger about 1/2" to an 1".
My pops recently just got one brand new and we have the same exact span he just has a slightly bigger thumb.  I'll tell you what this is a double ball so i would recommend buying one new.  Great spare ball cause it will go dead straight across the lane.  Throw it down and in and this ball actually crushes the hole cuz of its diamond core not a pancake block.  Great ball.
