I'm left handed, high ball speed with lot's of loft and medium revs. That's why I chose the LRG for it's advertised early roll characteristics. This is my first Lane #1 product and I'm definitely sold on their stuff now. The ball didn't have the pin far enough out to do too much with the drilling. I had my driller max out the leverage as best he could. I left the ball in it's out of box shiny condition. The first time I used it in competition was in the 5th game of an 8 game scratch tournament after my other equipment wasn't working for me and I figured I had nothing to lose so I would try the new ball. I threw the first nine strikes and finished with a 279 that game. Shot pretty decent that last 3 games too. Contrary to what you might think, this ball goes fairly long and straight and then makes a nice break to the pocket on the back end. I play very direct with it and use more ball speed and loft to keep it from rolling up high on the backend. It doesn't cover enough boards for me to swing it out very wide. But if I slow down the ball speed and miss a few boards outside it will recover nicely. This ball really carries well for me which is usually a problem if I play straight up the boards. On 3/29/01 I shot 268, 268, 259 for a 795 series in a scratch league playing that direct line. I would like to point out that everything else I have (Rock On, Monster Red, X-it, Complete Chaos, etc.) is kept dull and this is the only ball that I use that is somewhat polished. This may explain my observations about the ball seeming to go long for me. I would highly recommend trying this ball if you are a Lane #1 fan. I've just ordered a second one so I can try a different drilling.

I am a righty that has speed between 15 and 17mph with better than average revs.  I have had this ball for a month now.   The ball is drilled Thumbs Leveraged( See Lane 1 drilling sheet) with an weight hole and the pin to the right and slightly under my ring finger and the cg kicked out.  I bowl in all synthetic houses ranging from 10 to 10 block to the christmas tree pattern.  This ball is not the heavy oiler that lane i claims it to be.  This is not a swing shot hook the lane type of ball.  What it is, is an excellent house shot type of ball with stripped backends. I stand on 15 and lay the ball on the 10 out to 7 and it hits harder than all the other lane 1 balls PERIOD!! This ball hits so damn hard that people stop what they are doing to see if something broke.  OK, I may have stretched the truth, but the ball is the hardest hitting ball that I have ever had bar none.  The good thing about this ball is that you don't have to make major adjustments when the lanes break down, 2 to 3 boards and back in the pocket.

surprised when i opened up this ball for oily lanes and found it highly polished.i don't know what the particle load % is in this ball, but it's not the same as a hph or monster{never was able to polish either one up like this} i left the ball like it came, drilled it up thumb lev. off lane 1 drill sheet except i put the pin at 4 in and the cg at 3 in w/ a wght hole 2 1\2 in below my pap on the val. this ball doesn't outhook my other stuff, but it is very contollable on blocked lanes unless you get in the dry to early and it burns up before getting to the pins. won more bracket $ w/ this ball than any other in a long time. defintely worth the money for that lane condtion

Ok i dont have a review but more like a question on this ball, a friend of mine recently bought the Buzzsaw/C and had it drilled by a gentalmen named Steve in Highland lanes in Austin, Texas. I think it was a a 5 in span with a weight hole to give more weight back into the fingers. This ball has a great span in the backend, its not a violent turn but a nice driving turn. The ball does leave some 9 and 10 pins, but other than that the ball is really a great ball i was going to buy one but i am leaning on buying the LRG ball.

The reason im hear is i want some information on this ball, i need a better lead off ball than my Nu Line Excalibur Ledgend, dont get me wrong i love that ball, i have bowled many 600 and a few 700 series with it. But in heavy oil or a lot of carry down (which we get on men majors after the women bowl) i have a hard time getting it to turn back into the pocket with a good drive. By the second game and the third im doing fine but if the lanes down break down im in trouble. I need a bowl that can help carry me through my first game and the start of my second game and one that wont be such a big change when i switch over to the ledgend. I throw a ball with a lot of revs, and a lot of power, so in the heavy oil my ledgend does more hydroplaning rather than cutting. I also went with some bad advise when i first started out bowling and started throwing a 14.5 lb ball. Im 6'4 about 260 and throwing that ledgend is just hell on the lanes and the pins if i hit the pocket like i want to. But its time to step back up to the 16lb ranks and throw the ball like i want to and not the way the ball allows me to. Anyway i want some advice on this ball, what kind of shot is it? Does it drive through the pocket or just into the pocket?? What lane conditions is this ball best on and which does it hate the most?? I throw about a 10 to 14 board hook (depending on how dry the lanes are and how crazy i want to get) so is this ball to hard of a span for me or would it fit in great with my style ?? Please any information on this ball i would greatly love to hear about it, thank you for your time.

I got this ball drilled about a week ago from this review.
I HAVE ONE THING TO SAY...
this balls the best ball I have ever used in my life. Even though
I got the ball a week ago and have only bowled about 20 games with
it thus far, and i have already shot 200+ 5 times! This ball has the
sweetest backend of any ball i have ever used. This ball is very
consistent and the best thing is that i rarely had to change my
position on the dots. The ball hooks so much that sometimes I am
standing competely to the left of the dots.THATS CRAZY!!!(but sweet!)
PLEASE NOTE:THIS BALL IS WORTH EVERY PENNY OF THE $230+drilling I
PAYED FOR IT!!! LRG ROCKS!

and on wednesday, 6-12-02 I bowled 300 with my LRG!!!

wait, correction... 9x(200+) now and FIRST place in a no-tap tourney
this ball really does win you more! hehe...

16# pin 2-3" top wieght-? drilled lable leverage
been waiting for a good shot to through this ball on
our league shot is a little to dry for it.Anyways
bowled a tournament this weekend and had enough oil
to calm it down. The ball has a nice midlane reaction
and extreamly heavy roll to the pocket "got tapped 5
times in three games in the semi finals" shot 140
over to make the cut. shot 279 and won first match
shot 247 and lost second match. This ball hits very
hard and keeps the pins low for extra carrying power.
This ball is a keeper.

Holy crap this ball hooks more than any other ball i have ever owned, and thats a list that is as long and winding as the grat wall of china. I got this ball drilled thumb leverage w/ the pin 4-5.5" out and centered about 1/2 in. above the finger inserts. this ball gets down the lane really well for as much as it hooks. i love lane #1's stuff and own the carbide/c solid and the BOMB and the LRG hits harder than any of those two! this ball has only been used on oily conditions and hooks too much for the dry.

I got this ball in the middle of june so I'm still finding out what this ball can do.  The first thing I found out is than like every lane #1 ball it hit like a truck, I mean Wow.  This ball only has a 1 inch pin so it's not the big hooking ball I was trying to find.  It's driled Max Leverage but I need just a little more hand for it to really hook.  But that doesn't mean that this is a bad ball.  This ball is the best ball I ever owned.  The price tag is a little high in price but you get a great ball in return.  So far I've shot one 260 game and four 240 games I've shot many other 200's as well.  In my league I shot 678 with a hugh mistake in my 240 game. If I get on really heavy oil with this ball, it just skids if you miss a little outside, but if you can find the line you can score very well with this ball.  Even in this heavy oil it still made a nice hard turn to the pocket if I threw a good shot.  The best part about this ball is it's very predictable with a good midlane read.  Great job lane #1 for an awesome ball.

Ok I've got somemore games on this ball.  I still have no complaints.  I threw this ball in a tournament and shot 279 with it.  I finished second thanks to that ball.  I mean that in a good way.

Picked this ball up from CarolinaKingpin.

Ball specs:
pin out 4-1/4"
top weight 3.2 (I think)

I wanted a smooth ball that would hook in the oil so I drilled this ball 4-1/4 x 3-3/8 with weighthole on PAP. I left the coverstock in out of the box condition. I am going to scuff the ball soon to see how it alters the reaction.

The ball has a very smooth and arcing reaction on both lane conditions. This is not for everyone though. If I throw the ball a little flat it will leave 10 pin after 10 pin after 10 pin. The ball rolls simiilarly to my max leverage X-it but does not roll as soon due to the surface on the X-it (burg scotchbrite).

The ball does command respect though...if I play this on our house shot (see  my review of black raspberry) and get into the ball hard it will snap over and leave 9 pins. On the Sport pattern it will handle the heavier oil outside as long as I keep the speed under control. A little fast or slow and it can lead to disaster.

I would like to see Lane 1 wrap a medium reactive or lighter load particle shell around this core. I think it would be great.

In summation....smooth, predictable, even and hard hitting....hmmm...sounds like a Buzzsaw :-)

I've only bowled about ten games with it so far, but wow.  This is gonna be the next ball I shoot 300, maybe even 800 with.  It's EXTREMELY consistent.  I can't wait to see how it does in carrydown, but with the early roll it has, it's going to make it so much easier to adjust.  It doesn't set and go straight through the pocket, it DRIVES through the pocket.  It hooks awesome in oil, and if you make good shots, it will still do well on medium oil.  It also makes it so easy to be accurate, it's not super touchy, so you feel the freedom to just have a comfortable release.  It plays an oilier outside line well too, that's where I've had the most sucess with it so far, it likes having a breakpoint more than an even roll.  Put a little more revs on it, get it closer to the gutter, and it comes back headhunting the pocket.  Excellent ball, my first Buzzsaw, and I'm glad I made a good choice.

An added note already.  Took it out last night, second time bowling with it, first three games were 253-241-289 - 793.  Had the first ten in the last game, and left a wiggling 4 pin.  Bowled four more games and averaged 234 for the 7 total.  If you throw it right, it will help you out a TON.  Even when you miss a little.  But whatever you do, don't miss inside with it.  It'll take off.

I am a right handed bowler that averages 210's to 230's around where I am. I just got this ball from my brother it had 10 games on it and I got it plugged and had it drilled for me. I told my local proshop I wanted something for a Sport Condition cause when I go back to Pikeville College in bowl that is what they bowl on. Well I looked at it when I first got it and I notice one thing and that is the pin is set for a left hander. Yes right handed bowler with the pin for a lefty. I throw it thinking well I might get some backend on this ball but not much and I was right. This ball has a ton of length and I finally found something I can kinda throw when they are drying out since it has a long length on it and that is great. The one thing is that this ball hits hard I threw a couple games on it and it carries good but the power when it hits amazes me and that is one thing I love. If you want a good hitting ball gets this ball. If you want something for a Sport Condition get this ball. If you want something with a ton of backend this might be a ball but I don't know cause how this one is drilled. I am thinking on getting the XL also cause I can get it pretty cheap at the local proshop. So if you have a XL let me know and tell me what you think about. I will read them on profile but give me what you think straight up

The ball is 15lbs, 3" pin.  I had tried the Blueberry before and did not like the roll or the hit.  This ball really made up for it!  It is now my heavy oil ball, and really gets down the lane well considering.  I am still learning more about the ball, but first time out was 237-269-247, so not too bad.  When the ball hit the pocket, it was very forgiving allowing light hits and higher flush hits to carry well all around.  I would rate the ball 9/10, and would recommend it to anyone seeking a Lane #1 Heavy Oil Ball.

I bought this used and got a great deal on it! Its a saw nuff said! 15LB 3IN pin sanded to 600 Label drill pin to the right of ring finger like everything I own. bowling 4 Houses No OIL, light oil, Medium to medium light or the medium to medium heavy oil, and flood. Its best place I found was on a medium lanes Nice rolling Killer hitting mild arc snaps nice and predicable. gets a little over and under adjustments and be made by moving left but then it just becomes to much after the second game thats where the emerald saw comes in and it chews up and spits out the pins. 10 out of 10

This 14# LRG with a pin of 2-4 worked great on med-oily to oily conditions. Drill pattern was a modified label which gave me length and backend. The core in this ball is my favorite. 2 mini-stack diamonds within the diamond. Great ball that hits hard. I wish Lane#1 would have kept this ball in the line-up but business is business. I gave this ball a 10 on a scale of 1-10.
