Lane #1. Does it again!

The New XXL BuzzSaw delivers great hitting power and controlled hook! Now for those of your who need a true "Dry Lane" ball that will get down the lane and still have power to spare, this ball is for you!

We label drilled our XXL with the pin just tucked by the ring finger and in the 2:OO position. No balance hole was needed in that we kept the CG in the palm area. We tested this ball on both freshly dressed "Synthetic" lanes and a pair that had seen two complete shifts of league bowling on them.

Our fresh pair of lanes provided a ball reaction that I would define as "Glide & Dive", This ball in the hands of our "Cranker" Tester was smooth down the lane with a strong controlled hook on the backend! No problem getting this baby to turn up! Our "Tweener" tester, found this ball to work great outside of 10 playing a "Down & In" shot running the drier boards.

Lot's of length in our "Tweeners" hands and not enough cover to make a strong turn! Speed checks, and more hand provided a better finish after two games!

We moved to the "Broken Down" pair of lanes and from the start our "Cranker" tester found this ball to be hooking strong and early! By the time he moved far enough left, we was sweeping 20 boards out and back to get to the pocket!
This ball DID NOT play as we hoped it would on the dry lanes for our Cranker.

He thought it had TOO much cover and motor to be considered a Dry Lane condition ball in his hands! Medium to Dry? He thought he could make it work!

In the hands of our "Tweener" tester, we found this ball to do what it was designed to do! We could easily play the track area and get this ball down the lane with a strong backend move to the pocket! We found this ball to be strong and easy to control on the broken down lanes that we were playing on.

Great Hitting Power! "Typical for a BuzzSaw" No problem here!

We suggest that the weaker releases will find this ball excellent for the Dry lane conditions and that those of you who have stronger releases "Cranker" types, make sure your keep it simple on the drilling and even then, this ball could play too strong on some conditions!

Over all we loved this New BuzzSaw and highly recommend this ball to all bowlers! Lane one continues with their strong tradition!

I have to agree with BowlPro. This ball is not your typical weak urethane ball. I have a trong release and find this ball is to strong for a dry lane condition. It works real well on med-light. Covering as many as 20 boards out and back! Great carry! This is the second Buzzsaw I own and they both have incredible carry.

High Speed & High Revs here.

Got this ball last week and love it.
15lbs, 3.5" pin, 2.7oz top -- drilled 5 x 3&3/4

This ball is a perfect med-dry ball for me (definitely not dry though). I started out last night with my sonic x in practice and barely could keep it to the right of the head pin. Then I pulled this ball out and was playing 20 to 12 with a hard snap on the back and couldn't miss (getting down the lane farther than the sonic x). At one point I had 18 in a row over the first 2 games. You still will need a little oil though as I found out the last game. The heads began to dry up and the ball was starting to take off a little early no matter how deep I got (a couple of 4-9's hurt me). I would recommend this ball to anyone that bowls on Med. to Med-dry condition especially if the back end are clean. Remember this ball is not for the extremely dry conditions.......XXXL maybe, but not the XXL. At least in my hands.

An update now.......It's been a few weeks since I have reviewed this ball and it seems to be getting stronger. I've had to put it away during the last game over the last week. I think that I'm going to get another and have it drilled a little weaker to tame the backend reaction and will post a review on that one later.

I just drilled this ball a month ago and thought I post a review on it.

Ball Specs....
Pin: 2-3"
Top Weight: 3oz
Gross weight: 14-4

Drill Pattern. 1:30 Label

I use this ball on wood lanes with a 41 foot Christmas tree pattern. Medium to light oil. With this ball I like to stand at 22 and throw between the 1st and 2nd arrow. My break point is around the 5th board. My ball speed is 18 - 18.5 mph with about 250 revs. When I first got this ball I tried using it with the box finish on it. However, I had a lot of over/under reaction with it. I took a grey scotch bright pad to it and took the shine off it. About a 1000 matte. After that the ball seem to come alive and was very controllable. The best way to describe the reaction of the ball is...it clears the heads very well, revs up late, and makes a strong arcing move to the pocket. I have to admit I was very frustrated with this ball until I sanded it down. Been working great since then. I would recommend this ball to someone looking to use it on medium to light oil pattern. Definitely not for dry lanes. Thanks.

Stacked leverage. I was hesitant but my driller (very knowledgable ) says it will work on the dry lane, even with my slow ball speed.

Not only does this ball work on dry, but it also works on medium conditions. Many people are talking bout how strong the ball is and it really is. Ball rolls up if u hit it and skids really good in the dry. Very versatile ball. AND YES IT HITS LIKE A TANK. Hardest hitting ball ive thrown. Thanks to Doug Sterner for the ball, guess hes been right all this time bout the saws. Thinking bout trying the cranberry. GO GET 1 NOW

Well after having this Jewel drilled for a few months and throwing it on everything from soup to bone dry, I decided it is time for a review.

The ball is drilled label 1:30. Nothing fancy.

First off, the ball is very aggressive for a urethane ball. To be honest, sometimes I wonder if it isn't resin and the people whom I bowl with and against find it hard that this isn't resin.

The way I have it drilled, it cannot be used on anything approaching dry, and seems to really like being played on a fresh house shot. With this ball I can Stand with my left foot on the 20 board, laying down around 14 and out to 7 at the arrows and it makes a very aggressive move back to the pocket. When the lanes break down I can stand 35, down at 31, 15 at the arrows and it recovers and does pretty well.

I notice when I use this ball that I seem to shoot at less 10 pins than I normally do, I think this is because I'm not really generating INSANE entry angles, but getting the right amount. The carry seems really strong, the hit also seems to be strong as well.

Overall its a great ball, a little too strong for a drier enviroment(again probably due to my drilling), but it is now the first out of my bag for a THS shot.

9 out of 10 only because it was much stronger than expected.

mine is 15 lb, pin is 3.5 inches, pin above ring 1/2 inch, 4.5 X 3 drilling, this monster let me confuse this is a urethane ball, late game after 5 men league, dry head and light carrydown. swing 30 to 20, 2-3 board break and it hit like monster. try to play 35 to 25 but seems it is over it limit, weak carry for this line, 8 strike in first game, switch to my cherry bomb because of curiosity, the CB grab the lane so early and it was drive to dead because of the carry down, big chruch ! nothing to says, the XXL is super made for the dry head and I give it 10 (not me, all my friends who see me throw this ball,too), definitly a skip/snap ball for dry head, no other ball in my centre can combat the dry head except high polish the ball for just paly forward roll hard, this XXL give me so many confident now !

This is the ball for dry lanes. After a 188 followed by a 179 game in league. I pulled out my newly purchased BuzzSaw XXL for the final game and dropped a 246 first time used. So after bowling they had a King of the Hill competition which I bowling in. Scores as followed 268, 279, 245, 256, then too damn drunk from all the money I won to shoot anything else worth mentioning. The following week scores 212, 245, 269 = 726. By the way I,m a 200 avg. bowler.

Everybody has their own "arsenal" of bowling balls which they take into battle against the nasty rack. The XXL buzzsaw is the perfect ball to use when the lanes aren't quite burned enough to use your plastic spare ball. Besides the fact the ball can be used as a med-dry condition ball. Plus it hits hard enough to hold it's own. I bought as an experiment to see if I would like Lane#1 equipt. enough to buy the more expensive balls. I love it...and haven't decided on which L#1 ball to buy. Maybe the Dirty Bomb or Black Cherry Bomb. I don't want to risk buying a Uranium and it being the same as my Ultimate Infreno. Again when getting later into a tourny and running on empty with all your normal arsenal "flyin high" the XXL will carry you.

I'm too lazy to make a long post, but just a heads up for all the crankers out there, this ball hooks quite a bit!

I throw 17mph with 495rpm and was expecting a dry lane ball because it's urethane. It hooks a little more than I'd like it too, but you'd never know that it was urethane by how it snaps and hits. Mine is 15# with a label drilling.

I bought it used off a friend and have to say I love it so far, but like I said, it hooks more than I thought it would.
