I am a righty that has speed between 15 and 17mph with better than average revs.  I have had this ball for a couple of months now.  The ball is drilled 3 3/8 stacked with a 9 inch weight hole and the pin to the right of my ring finger and the cg kicked out a tad.  I bowl in all synthetic houses ranging from 10 to 10 block to the christmas tree pattern.  This ball is your proto-typical skid/snap reaction.  The ball does indeed go long and does snap hard off the dry.  I stand on 20 and lay the ball on the 12 out to 7 and it hit very hard.  When the lanes break down i can move in deeper and continue to strike.

I bought this ball to complement my Lane1 Cherry Pearl.  The Silver is a classic Pearl ball "goes long and hooks strong."  I usually don't see a lot of 9 pin spares, but with the power of this ball I had 4 in one game.  The ball performs best on medium to dry lanes with fresh backends.  On lanes with carrydown, the Silver goes too long.  Overall, this ball is another winner in the Lane1 arsenal.
You will not see me on the PBA Tour, but I love the game!!!

I'm what you would call a power stroker. This Ball clears the heads so well that when others have move in deep, I can usually stay just outside of everybody. The ball skids/recovers better than alot of your so called big name balls. I didn't even mention that it may be the hardest hitting ball I've ever thrown.

Just got this ball drilled tonight. Got it drilled so it would go long and come back hard, and does it ever!!! I play around the ten board and the ball does all the work for me. If I hit light it still carries really well. Only had a chance to shoot two games with it so far. They were a 234 and 210. It isn't quite as aggresive as my Hammer 2001, but I had it drilled so it wouldn't be. Can't wait to throw it on fresh lanes.

This is only the best ball I've ever thrown!  That's saying something too.  This ball absolutely does anything I want it to do, and I don't even have to change the way I throw it too much.  I had it drilled with the cg about 3 inches away from my palm, and pin at a 45 degree angle toward the fingers.  It's about a 1 1/2" to 2" pin.  The ball recovers when none of my other bowling balls will, and goes straight when everything is overreacting for me.  This ball is magical!!!  I will buy another one of these for the upcoming season.  A great sport shot and tournament ball!!  An A+ 100%

I bought this ball used with about a 1/34 to 2 inch pin in "excellent" condition. It is my first LANE 1 ball to date and was very excited to give it a go. What I found was a hard hitting ball with a loud crack when taking no prisoners with the pins. I also found this ball to move late with a nice move towards the hole. Most of my shots were played more to the outside as I really never see dried out lanes. Being a new bowler to the game and learning every day, right now this ball is not what I am looking for, as the margin for error is small and I am not that type of bowler yet. Hope to try a different Lane 1 soon. BG

This is a rereview of my Silver Diamond....gave it another shot since I am learning how to throw a bowling ball like a bowler...(timing and relase has improved after a Dartfish lesson) Took it down to my league lanes which are a Med condition with more oil outside of the 10 boards then the past. This condition has givin me fits and for the most part many others as averages are down about 10 pins. I gave the ball I nice hand hit of Balck Magic as it never has had much a shine on it. It seemed to me that this ball like to move really hard late and I had some luck playing it about 3 boards deeper than normal starting point. I also had some tuff times with the old ten pin with it before.
Well, today it was a monster that I did not know I had. I could throw down the 10 board and watch it search for the dry and make a powerfull move to the pocket. Many buried hits, plus many light and high hits with plenty of pin action...very few ten pins. It did get a bit strong on me late, but it was on fire.....4 games over 230 with it....For me....that was awesome. It was a pleasure to watch this ball rev up and turn hard and sread the pins today. Glad I got home and took it off EBAY before someone bought it! Excellent ball!

What a great ball. This 14# I had drilled pin axis. This drilling sent the ball long with a nice turn to the pocket. I was able to play a couple of different lines with this drilling. Of course it did hit hard like the other buzzsaw. This is one of my favorite balls to throw. The lane conditions were med to med oily.  On a scale of 1-10 I gave this one a big 10.

Based on research and recommendations I got one of these Silver Diamonds drilled up for medium oil conditions.

I had an old purple buzzsaw from about 5 years ago and liked the way the ball rolled and hit. Plus I was looking for a ball that would give me what the old Gold Rhino Brunswick gave me (the ball I had the most success with).

This ball is a monster. I am still working on some mechanical issues with my delivery but when I pulled this out I found I could play down and in (straight up 10) or from a wide angle (outside 5) and could also open the lanes up with this ball. While I can usually get most of my equipment to the pocket when I make drastic line adjustments, the carry usually goes down.

After moving over to our towns toughest house this summer I had shot 2 low 500s and 1 high 400 set...needless to say I was struggling.

Last night I shot 100 pins better than my previous high in the first 3 weeks (my previous high was 519, I shot a 629). This house is demanding and with 16 teams no one shot anything over a 670 (I believe one guy hit a 663). Thing is, I had a shot at league high last night, but I simply lost it for about 4 frames in the 3rd game on one lane (had opens in all 4 frames by being stupid).

What I learned is this is one amazing ball. When I hit the pocket I carried and there was none of this over/under reaction where you leave a solid 9 on one hit and the next time barely knock out the 5 pin. The roll, arc and consistency was uncanny. When I hit the pocket I had complete and total confidence I would strike. The only reason I didn't shoot a 700 is I missed 2 single pin spares and had several splits that cost me, completely my fault.

I don't remember a single ball I threw that I felt like I got tapped. When I left something it was clearly obvious why I left it and when I executed my shot it was a strike.

This ball is so damn good I have been having the itch today to go back out and practice, but held true to taking the day off.

This ball is amazing...Depending on your drilling it is a ball that I believe could work on dry or in oil and still deliver consistent results. Depending on how the rest of the league season goes, I will possible be drilling up another one of these balls for a more aggresive reacton.

I love this ball...It reminds me of the incredible Gold Rhino by Brunswick, but is BETTER.

Update on the Silver Diamond

Started year with 572 and 500 w/ Icon 2.

Didn't think the Diamond would play well at this oilier house. After the 500 I went for change. First night out...609, then 575, 562, 675, 661 and 640
(right at 200). Averaging 206 w/ the Buzzsaw. This is terrain I have never been in before.

It would be hire but my spare game let me down in the 500 sets and even the 640 set (chopped two mini buckets and missed two single pins).

I plan on staying w this liine

I got this ball 3 weeks ago from my pro shop at work.  Since he's a lane1 rep he convinced me in buying a buzzsaw and since i have a 30% discount, i thought i would...  Damn good ball!

Now, onto the review!

bowler specs in my profile, i think i'll up-date em today

The ball is 15#, drilled stacked leverage.  Pin Next to my ring finger, cg just right of my palm, with an x-hole on my pap.

I have never seen a more versatile ball when it comes to playing different lines.  When i got this ball i tested it out on a fresh shot after work one night.  Since it was a slow night and we had a ton of lanes with fresh shots jus lying around i thought i'd give it a try.  The shot was a christmas tree pattern, 38ft long, buffed to 46, medium volume.  I was standing 30 (left foot), layin the ball down at 20 out to about 5 and it'd come ripping back in demolishing the rack.  This ball keeps the pins low but still sends out all those messengers needed to help carry better.  It doesn't send the pins flying everywhere like some balls, it keeps them low and flyin.

This ball is a forgiving ball if you miss ur target to the right by a few boards, even on light pocket shots, this ball still carries.  I have left very little 10 pins with this ball and i'm very amazed at that.  I left plenty of 10 pins with my x-factor but not with my SD.

After playing 20 to 10, i thought i'd try an up the boards shot.  I moved to playing right up the 5 board and BAM it hooked right into the pocket and carried just as well as the previous line did.  You can change your line with this ball and still be able to carry well.  Just an amazing ball all around.

I am convinced that lane1 is one of the best companies around, and i'm glad that i purchased a silver diamond.  I will be getting a cherry bomb, and a BCB soon depending on the cash flow!  Hope this review helps with ur selection in balls!

Ya ball looks real good (CHOKE)  lAMEONE has another looser here!

But hell were used to that aren't we Lameone freaks!!!

Buy a scout or a gyro pro it hooks just as much.

Oh yes we have lots of junk balls on the market so why buy this one?

Target Zone are nice they don't hook and hit flat like this one.

notacranker. Way to add to the discussion.

You think the only thing people look for is "hook." The Silver Diamond isn't really a ball setup for major hook. It's a good medium condition ball.

What makes this ball impressive is the myriad of lines I have played with it. I have played a basic 12 to 10 line in league and shot and carried well. And I have, in practice, taken it out to my local house when the lanes are dry and played 7 boards right of the left channel out to about 13 or so and it OUTPERFORMS the Icon 300, supposedly Columbias big hooking ball.

It carries consistently and when I leave a pin 99% of the time I could tell I deserved to leave it (was flat and left a 10 or I pulled up and the ball went too high leaving a 4 for example). With the Icon 300 its a crap shoot whether or not I will carry...

Yea the Lane 1 product is more expenseive although this ball isn't one of its higher prices balls, but I have already won the difference in price by winning one shoot-out board in league this year using this Silver-Diamond.

Plus, its a confidence thing. If you think the Gyro is great then wonderful bowl with it. There are a lot of good products out there NOT named Lane 1...but I can tell you right now the confidence I have in Lane 1 is what I like the most.

I was averaging just under 200 with this ball and I had to put in on the shelf because I had to get my thumbslug redone...My pro shop is 3 hours away so I had to wait...It only took 4 weeks for Columbia 300 to take 5 pins off my average. Now I've pulled back out the Silver-Diamond and have started to rise up in average again.

This is an incredible ball ... Absolutely incredible. I can play down and in or deep inside and DID NOT even change the cover by sanding or polishing...Amazing. The reason I like Lane 1 is because I won't need 12 balls like other people.

I have this ball and plan on getting the XXXL for dry lanes and something more aggressive for large oil and Ill just stick with that for a year or two.
