Getting my Tsunami punched up tonight! I will post a review on Saturady after my Thursday and Friday night leagues!

WOW!! TRULY AMAZING!! LANE #1's BENCHMARK

Had this ball drilled Label according to Lane #1's Tsunami Drilling instructions. Since this league is putting out a different shot each week, not sure what to expect, so didn't bring this one out first. Bowled the first three games, shooting avg. of 184. Pulled out the Tsunami and after throwing it too fast the first frame and getting the pocket 7-10, relaxed and threw this ball up the 10 board, rolling out to 5 board and making the hard pin crushing turn to the pocket. Missed inside in the 9th, covered the 3-6-10, and struck in the 10th and 11th before a 9 pin 12th for a 234. Only game with it so far under tough league conditions with no typical house shot ever seen on this league. I'll update after tonights THS...

Oh.. And cannot count the number of compliments I received on this ball.. Prolly the first one in Utah!! From the time I pulled it out of the bag in the proshop until I put it away after that game. People asking me what it was.. Some had never heard of Lane #1. Too bad for them!! But, I think I might have sold a few of these last night!!

I'll try and provide a little more comprehensive review than others have done thus far....

My Game:
Axis specs: 5-1/5 right up 1/2
15-16 mph
Rev rate in the 275-325 range
Preferred line: stand around 20-25 and play a small swing, 15 to 10ish with an arcing reaction

Predrill Ball specs:
Gross: 15 # 4 oz
Pin: 3.25"
Top wt: 2.9 oz

Drill pattern:
I used my old faithful here....4-1/4" pin to PAP, MB 2" right of thumb
3/4" x 2" weighthole added 2" below my midline/VAL intersection to bring statics back to 5/8 side and 1/8 finger

The testing grounds:
Shot 1...THS, 26 feet of applied oil buffed to 32 feet, 10 to 10 roughly 55 units, 5-10 have 7 units and 5 on the edges. backends are stripped daily

Shot 2...SPORT shot...34 feet applied, buffed to 41, certified pattern with 45 units at the heaviest point at 15 feet and 35 at the heaviest point end of pattern.

Ball reaction:

THS...Got to throw exactly 2 practice balls "before the lights came on." Started out with this ball and it was the first time in I don;t know how long that I could stick to one ball all night. In fact 3 weeks in a row now I have not picked up another ball. The ball ignores the heads until mid 3rd game where it starts to get a little grabby up front but otherwise is silky smooth up front. Midlane read is second to none. I have not had a ball read this well since the days of my El Nino X-it. It was at the end of the pattern where I was pleasantly surprised though...no sudden bounce to the left! What I saw was a smooth transition and a very strong continuous backend that sends pinseverywhere but still keeps them going sideways, not up. I carried some corners off the sides that I have never done...truly great carry. The 10 pins and 9 pins I have been shootinglately have all but vanished.

Sport pattern...I was very hesitant top try this ball on this shot since I had a highly satisfying week for myself last week with my Big Time but the Tsunami didn't disappoint me. The oil volume on this pattern is less in the middle but the pattern is longer so it aids in transition. I was able to play the same basic line as I did with the Big Time last week but I had to lay off the ball speed a pinch. I was able to play a nice 15 to 10 with a soft hand at the bottom. Too much rip and the ball slid forever and bit hard (evidenced by the 6-9 I took out of the one rack!). I was able to hold the line all night (only 3 man teams as opposed to 5 man on the THS) with only minor changes in hand position and a 3 board move on the approach. I hit my average 2 of the 3 games. Game 3 I cannot blame on the ball...operator error pure and simple.

Overall I must say I am very pleased with the performance of the Tsunami thus far. It seems to be everything Lane 1 bragged it up as. I see shades of the old Blueberry when I use this ball. The ball is very smooth and predictable...the Lane#1 trademark. The Tsunami is a definite keeper as far as I am concerned and I am even considering drilling another with a different layout to try and replace another ball in my bag. This is a definite benchmark, first outta the bag type ball....

Great Job Lane#1...now wrap a particle pearl cover around this core and I'll be all over it for another one!!!!

just got my first lane 1 ball the tsunami drilled 41/2 by 41/4 mb 2inches right of thumb, basic stacked drill. i must say the mb is not strong in this ball as we spun it on a determinator prior to drilling, and it took so long to spin up we stopped counting the seconds. i throw 16-17mph about 380 revs. took ball to league the next day, standerd christmas tree 38ft pattern stripped back ends. wow, 5 practice balls 5 strikes throwing about 18 to between the 8 to 5 boards. oh and these are very old wood lanes about 40 years old. the tsunami was very smooth and predictable the first game 255. not bad, second game old lanes started to break down moved to 23 to 10 a little more friction and the tsunami started to really turn hard but still predictable, 278 yes!! third game more breakdown and a big move to 30 to between 12 to 5. holy smokes batman i had all the room in the world, ball came back from everywhere multiple angles, pin carry was nuts, just scattering pins all over the place, snipers pins, can openers, you name it carried it, 279 for a awesome 812 series fresh out of the box!!!! only my second 800 but i would expect more honor scores from this ball. i would say that this ball loves some friction and has a very smooth but hard midlane and backend read. a bowlers best friend in my opinion. cant wait to actually practice with this ball to see what it is really can do!!!!

This is just a mini review, that will give the specs, and a one game review.

Ball specs;

15.25 weight; 2.5 ounces of top weight, and 2" pin.

approximately a 4x4 layout, with the pin just underneath the ring finger. cg is just a bit over 1" kicked right, with the the diamond logo turned toward the 11 o'clock position. MB is approx 2" below thumb, and kicked to the strong position (right) of thumb hole. (cg and pin are not stacked).

Condition was a medium to medium light house shot with minimal carry down. Flushed a 4 bagger (after a couple of getting to know the ball shots), and main thing I noticed right away was that it was a SMOOOOOTH and predictable roll, with a hard arching turn to the pocket. So far, I would make this a bench mark ball, and will be the first out of my bag for a few weeks. I will report more after a couple of weeks in league use. But, I can say UNDOUBTEDLY this was a GREAT creation by Lane 1.

UPDATE from previous mini review (see that post for specs and layout data).

Used this ball on our Friday HS, which has medium oil, with carry-down, due to the lanes never getting stripped. With my speed, this ball did not want to recover if played too deep, so I moved to standing 25 board, with a line of 12 board, and a small swing to 8. This ball glided through the head oil (especially as it got lighter), and as it did on the mini review, made the smoooooothest controlled arching move to the pocket. It was as if the ball was gliding on air. Slower speeds will find this ball a must in their bag for medium to oily, while higher speeds with enjoy super success on medium to lighter, depending on the back-ends. First complete set was 201, 267, 216 = 684. My Pearl Uranium can handle a deeper line, BUT then again, I have higher ball speed, and its core is denser. I am extremely satisfied with this ball, and it is a plus to my line.

Ok, so I took my ball out for a test drive today and rolled 3 games with it. I carry a 201 average and I have average ball speed and turn. The lanes were very wet today as i threw my WMB just to check things out and the ball didn't move very much. For the first 2 games I played around with my shot, going from slightly left of center while shooting at the 3-5 board. One thing I notice right away is this ball has the smoothest transition from skid to roll that I've ever seen! It's just beautiful to watch it develop. Anyway, I found myself hitting the head pin every time, even when I tucked it too much. The first couple games were 193 and 178 and like I said, I was just trying different things out. The 3rd game, I got serious. I played my mark and with the exception of the 4th frame -- all strikes (in the pocket) baby! I left only one 10 pin and scpred a 268! I'm so close to becoming a believer in this ball, but the real test will be when I bowl in my league. I'm very impressed with this ball and I hope I can do some real damage tomorrow night.

This is my first Lane #1 ball it was payment for some electrical work I did for my friend who drills my equipment.

Ball Specs: 15.3 lbs., 2.25oz top weight 2 1/4" pin to cg.

Drilling. Pin 4 3/8" from PAP and 3 1/2" from val under ring finger. Mass bias 4 1/4 from pap. X hole on PAP pitched away as not to change the weight block bringing the ball back to 5/8 oz positive.

This ball is very clean through the heads as has been stated by other reviews, but the back end is about as snappy as a ball can be. You can throw this ball on oil, because it will hook, but you had better be accurate. I found this ball better on broke down and dryer conditions, where the ball encountered enough dry boards to make it burn off some of it's energy before it hit the pins.

On a fresh house shot the words "skid snap" do not describe clearly enough the reaction you get from this ball and that is while releasing it up the back to try to get it to read the midlane sooner.

On second shift this ball shows the reaction I expected to see, more of a strong midlane and continuous back end.

The pocket percentage is very high with this ball due to it's weaker core, .030 diff. Where my X Factor Ace leaves smash 7s and stone 8s, the Tsunami seems to carry on the same type of hit.

Over all I will pick and choose when to throw this one, probably shorter patterns and second shift conditions when I need to go around a hang spot. Not enough midlane and way too much back end read on the fresh house pattern I bowl on. I could dull the ball up, but I like the reaction it gives on dryer conditions. It fits right between my ACE and my XXX, less midlane than the Ace and more snap on the back end than the XXX.

OH MY GOD.

If you bowl on med conditions...! Slower ball speeds may be able to use it on heavy oil. This ball is unreal. The reviews I've seen on it (BTM) do not do this ball justice. I've had it over a month and it really seems unfair rolling it against other people. It's already made back what I paid for it 10x over. The coverstock is as durable any I've ever seen. Mine is drilled with a stacked leverage but the ball doesn't over react. Has a hard, but smooth turn. I play everywhere from the 17 board to coming straight up the 3 board on certain shots. I've rolled it on wood and synthetic with same results. Bottom line, I haven't seen an angle it can't recover from. Performs best on med conditions, ok on heavy oil don't think about it on dry. A must have in your bag.

After 15 years of being out of the game and having a terrible time getting the ball to move in my league (so much more oil on the lanes than when I stopped bowling), I purchased a Tsunami H20. I drilled it stacked with a 3" pin and 3 oz top weight. I wanted a ball that would move on oily lanes and I have found it.

I throw the ball fairly hard (18 mph) with good revs, usually down 10, but normal shot is a slight swing from 12 to 10 or 10 to 8 depending on the conditions. I have been averaging this year 213 with a Sumo. I'm scoring great when the lanes dry out, but struggling on oily conditions.

Nine games in and OH MY! I can miss almost anywhere to the right and the ball will come back with a vengeance and the carry is amazing. Hitting my mark sends 10 into the pit, going right and coming in a little light scatters the pins very well. If I pull it, I have about 1 board to play with before it heads to the nose. Two boards to the inside and I know it will be a 4, a 9 or a 4-9 split. My first series was near average. My second three games were a 268, 235 and a 216 and my third series resulted in a 655.

If I can keep my feet slow, I have an easy 4 boards to play with (1 to the left and 3+ to the right) that result in a high % of strikes. I can even go farther to the right with more carry than I ever hoped for. My timing is still off and my pulled shots resulting in splits are killing my series scores, as I get more practice in I believe this ball will help raise my average a solid 10 pins.

Thanks to everyone who has posted reviews on this ball, you convinced me to purchase a Tsuanmi and I am very thankful. One more thing - picking corner pins and spares in general are not a problem with this ball at all. I was a little afraid that with that much turning power I would have a tough time, but I am 100% through 9 games with my single pins.

Well I have had this ball for a few months now and it is my benchmark ball. I am a power stroker and I throw it around 15 mphs. This is my first Lane #1 ball and I admit I was first about the money but not any more. This is by far one of the best balls I have ever had. It reads the lanes very well and has a great reaction to the pocket. I have it drilled stacked it clears the heads easily and flys on the backend. The ball is very versatile as I can play inside or down and in with the ball. The ball also has very good pin carry. The only problem I run into with this ball is with carry down it doesn't carry the corners for me. After buying this great ball I will be purchasing more Lane 1 in the future.

I bought my Tsunami to be my new benchmark ball. Everything Iâ€™ve read about
this ball told me how smooth this ball is, and it is true. On medium to light
conditions it is phenomenal, it doesnâ€™t over react and it doesnâ€™t under react.
As usual with Lane#1 stuff this ball destroys the pins.

at first, the ball seemed dead, did nothing .. so I put it aside thinking that the cover stock was the reason

decided later on to give another try, played small swing shot and wow .. somehow the ball came alive .. I believe it was me more than the ball or the lane condition .. shot : 266 - 237 - 263 = 776

the ball has a crazy pin hit-mix ... I admit out of all lane#1 balls that I got, Tsunami has the best hit

Just has this ball drilled last night. The layout of the drill is Hook & Set (some people calls it Stack Leverage). I also have the ball dull it up a bit to a 1000 grits for a more controllable backend. I didn't have time to try it last night, so I went to give it a try during my lunch break. First shot that I thew slammed the pocket, but it left me a 9 pin and then I missed the spare. After the one shot, the ball's got a mind of its own... it seems like it's determined to strike on the next shot and the next and the next......u get the point.... anyhow... here is what I shot.... 248, 244, and 238. The funniest thing was that the guy next to me thought that I was a spare ball that i was throwing...hahahha

. I have had other Lane #1 balls, but this one is the one that is most predictable for me....

This is the most disapointed that I have ever been with a new ball. I first had it drilled stacked leverage and never could get any consistency out of it had it redrilled pin above ring finger same thing , I'm not cutting down lane 1 but it just didn't work for me. I use it for shooting 10 pins a very high priced spare ball. It is a very nice looking ball
