**Putting My Money Where My Mouth Is: Update 11/20/09**
« on: June 30, 2009, 01:25:30 AM »
Well, I am sure many of you Lane #1 fans (of which I was one years ago) have been reading my posts back and forth to Steven explaining my position on Lane #1 and how I feel they do not have enough versatility in their lineup, and have lost what made them famous back in the C2 days.  I am posting this to put my money where my mouth is and see if I can get a bite on my offer.

I am willing to trade a few of the balls in my current lineup for balls that you may have from the Lane #1 lineup.  I will redrill them, and put them in my current arsenal and give them an honest assessment based on performance only.  I will compare them to the other balls I have, and tell you how they work in comparison across a variety of different patterns.  I want people to see that I am serious, so I am throwing down the gauntlet and am willing to put a few Lane #1 balls in my league and tournament rotation, and see how they do.

Here is what I am looking for:  LH single drill, 15lb. Lane #1 balls (current or recently discontinued pieces).  Preferably the span would be around 4 3/4", but a little shorter or longer is o.k.  The balls I have for trade are the following:  Hammer No Mercy, Brunswick Copperhead, Brunswick Twisted Fury Solid, MoRich Awesome Revs, and a few others at the shop (not sure of exactly what is there, lol).

If you are interested, shoot me a pm, and we can work out a trade.  If I get any bites, I will post up pics of the balls and let you know how they are working in my arsenal.  I want to see if I will be proven wrong with a real time test of current Lane #1 balls, no b.s.  Thanks.

CG: I have an idea. Why don't you take Maine up on his offer and suggest a trade your Super Carbide Bomb? Step up to the plate and make your own offer for the cause.

The two Lane#1 balls I own that would be of value to him (Cranberry/Nugget) are not available for a trade. I still use them both and have no interest in parting with them.

Come on CG, go for it.

Yes, but you never said you weren't LH, so who knew?? Anyway, maybe he's flexible. If you're here for the right reasons, at least offer to make the trade. You might be surprised at his response.

CG: I've already answered earlier:

"The two Lane#1 balls I own that would be of value to him (Cranberry/Nugget) are not available for a trade. I still use them both and have no interest in parting with them."

But thanks for your interest.

i apologize...i didnt see that you only had 2 lane 1 balls...that is very hard for me to believe with your addiction to defending the greatest thing ever....but if you say so...and how do you not own a dynamo, you could retire everything else in your lineup..

Oh, boy.....

It doesn't sound like you really read the thread/discussion that led up to the offer. Why doesn't that surprise me?

Anyway, I've got lot's of Lane#1 equipment (including the Dynamo). Based on what I think he's looking for, the Cranberry/Golden Nugget would be the best that I have for a trade. But they're not available.

One of the few things you got right (more by accident) is the how good the Dynamo is. Over time, I can see going with a mostly Dynamo line-up. The ball is that good.

IVE GOT A XXXL STARBURST ILL TRADE YOU

Just throwing it out there since nobody else seems to want to. And I dont even pick sides when it comes to lane 1 vs. other companies. I just people would stop arguing over this debate, and try to put themselves in each other shoes.
People prefer different stuff. Simple as that. Some things work for other that dont work for others.

Anyhow, until people realize that, I will always have a fresh batch of movie butter popcorn ready for the entertainment. If anybody wants some, let me know, I got plenty to share.

How are the Cranberry and Nugget "current or recently discontinued" balls?

I spoke with Chuck (courtesy of Steven) at Lane #1, and he is going to take me up on my challenge.  I am going to be throwing a Chainsaw Massacre, and adding it to my current lineup.  As soon as I have the ball and drill it up, I will post pics and an honest assessment and comparison (to other balls in my lineup) after getting some games on the ball.  I have to say, I am VERY impressed with the fact that Lane #1 was interested in my comments (and criticism) about their current equipment, and is now willing to put THEIR money where their mouth is and let me drill up a ball from their current lineup.  A big thanks goes out to Chuck for stepping up to the plate, and I will let everyone on br know how things are going as I get a chance to use this ball in league and tournament play over the end of the summer, and into the fall season.  Thanks.
