Yeah, but are they in the people's hands yet? If not, how can people talk about em? I haven't seen a review on the new releases yet by staffers. So maybe they don't have them yet either.

its only quiet cuz Urb is on vacation...

First ones started arriving in our area this week. I saw the Gemstone in action Tuesday and Thursday night in the hands of one of our guys who buys pretty much every one of the Lane #1 releases. Someone on one of these boards said the Gemstone rolls a lot like the HRG and I can see that after watching this guy throw it. Looks like an ideal league ball for folks who bowl on medium to medium-light. Has too much punch for pure dry. Very nice looking ball, reminds me of the old Track Sensor Xcel color. No Dynamo X2s yet.

I got to throw my X-2 tonight for the first time.....I like it :-)
Drilled it with my standard drilling (5x4 pin over), small weighthole on the VAL below the midline.
This ball is VERY strong on the backend. I have taken the surface to 2000 with polish. I think i am going to back off to 1000 or even 800 with polish to try and get the roll started just a tick earlier.
I think this ball shows extreme promise. I like it much better even after just 3 games than my Agent Orange. The ball clears the first 30 feet very easily and then has a well defined movement off the breakpoint.
This ball reminds me a lot of the old Blueberry C2.....

I see Doug is seeing the resemblence that the dynamo core balls has to the berry series, my original is very similar to my old black raspberry, hoping to make the x2 longer with more backend

I have a super sweet original Dynamo with great specs sitting here that I may have to drill up.....
I agree with Trigger...the Hurricane cored balls roll awful close to the PowerKoil covered C2 balls of the past....

According to Lane #1 the original is 4000....it is a VERY strong ball. How would you recommend the X2 be drilled/surfaced to complement the original?

Golf... you probably could drill them both the same and get a totally diff look with each and compliment each other well. These two are just two diff machines.
Granted I have 3 X2's, my Dynamo at true 4K Abralon is stronger than my strongest drilled X2... Just go with your favorite layout and you wont be disappointed. John

if I were to drill an X2 and an original Dynamo to act as a 1-2 punch for league I would drill them the same.....pin over ring with cg kicked out a hair.
This layout normally translates into a 5x4 for me. If my backends are screaming I will keep the cg in tight to avoid the need for a weighthole (which I would probably do with the X2). If the backends tend to get carrydown or the pattern is a bit longer I would put the cg out further to provide for the weighthole.

What's the difference between the Dynamo's, and why are they the same color? Saw one on the shelf and thought it kinda odd.
-
the original Dynamo is black with orange logos and is a solid resin which is best suited for heavier oil
the Dynamo X2 is a dark blue/purple color with pinkish logos and is also a solid resin but the coverstock on this one is a hybrid of 2 other solid resins. the x2 clears the heads much better and has a more angular breakpoint
