Carbide +
« on: May 03, 2006, 08:29:46 AM »
Just received my test ball today from teh gurus in Syracuse. Appears to be the original C2 core with an updated coverstock. Frtom what I hear it's an Activator + 5% particle.

I am thinking of a pin over bridge, cg out type drill so at least maybe I'll be able to get the ball down the lane a little bit before it flips.

I'll post more as soon as I have more to share.

T-God is correct on the SCB was 20% Load, The Carbide+ 5% is considerd a mild particle, 1-4% Load (Light) 5-10% Load (Mild) 11-20% Load (Heavy) This is per lane 1's Specs, Now the debate would be what does the other Ball mfg's consider lite, med, heavy? Percentages.

But it's of such limited us for 99.99% of us ...

Few have quoted the actual percentage load for particles. I wonder what some of the other solid particles are, which are in us today?

Got to throw the C+ tonight...

Drill pattern:
Pin over bridge, cg out 1"

Ending weights:
side: 3/4 oz
finger: 1/2 oz

First off the shot was not the best. THe lanes had not been oiled since Tueaday with our new house shot. The new shot has a great deal of oil in the middle but we don't have the 3 or less bumper bowling units on the outside. We have 8's and 9's on the edges.

The pair only had 5 games total on it so the breakdown was not there yet.

First Impression....this ball is amazing!!!!! The ball is able to recover from deep, can be played up the boards, rolled or spun. There is a winner right here....I shot 224-269-242 out of the box with this ball. Simply the best I have bowled in a long time.

The ball is so smooth and predictable it's ridiculous. When played out to the gutter and some tilt is added this ball will snap...not quite like the Cobalt but it'll still come off the corner.

I can't say enough...this ball is much more playable thanI anticipated it being...

Way to rejuvenate the classics Richie!!!!!

Those are the characteristics I remember and liked about the diamond core.

The diamond core is still my favorite...especially with a pearl coverstock....long live the Emerald C2 and the Pearl Uranium.

But I agree charles...the diamond is VERY predictable. The only diamond variant I didn't care for was the Cranberry/Nugget core.

Agreed. The Pearl Uranium has become one of my favorites as well. However, I like the U-Solid just as much...just depends on the lanes! I am hoping the Carbide+ will carry on the tradition of that elusive "Lane #1 roll and hit".
