3M - do you know the grit?

3M 05973 Perfect-It II Rubbing Compound is great. Does anyone know what the numbers on the Perfect-It correspond to the polishes in the bowling market?

Come on guys... I got the Hybrid and want to get the tacky feel again... Had to sand to play in oil... now i regret doing it... HELP!

I'm not sure about the 3m polish, but depending on what type surface you're looking for...I just bought some Track Clean-N-Sheen and it works great. Takes the surface to 1200 grit with a light polish. It gives that tacky feeling back to the cover that you're describing. If you want something to make the ball go longer and then flip super hard on the back...I hear the Track Magic Shine is great. I have'nt tried that one yet though.

Is this what you have?
Look at the tiny printing on the label; it does seem to say "Perfect-It II".

If that is what you have, then the answer is obvious.

If not, we can try something else.

Unfortunately, while we all WANT TO KNOW WHAT WE ARE USING, often it is truly of no import what the actual grit is. Yes, many posted replies can seem too much like a smart-as* answer.

Tks for the tips... I tried it in my old Quake Pearl... Sanded it to 400 than 600 and added a light amount of 3M compound... the ball got the same old feel and a reaction... so I guess and hope it will work on the Hybrid...

Tks men... 600 grit w polish left a lot of corners... ball burned up quite fast... going for the 400 w the 3M... glad to know that you decided to share your knowledge...
