Title: 4.9 Top Weight on XXXL
Post by: Cranking_Inferno on January 16, 2006, 03:27:29 PM
I think they messed up.

I ordered 4"pin  3 ounces top weight

Is this a blem, or does this plastic ball have this alot?

I think they messed up as well.  Remember, though, that even though this is a plastic ball, I believe it has a core.  Most other plastics such as Target Zones and White Dots, have pancake weight blocks, so top weights are typically around 1-2 ounces, not 4+.  Most balls with cores inside can have higher top weights.  4.9 is a little excess, but have seen alot of balls with over 4 ounces of top weight.  I do not think it is a blem.  Sounds like more of a misunderstanding from where you bought it from.

If anyone out there is worried about the scores being too high, try duckpin!!

Another reason why I don't try and save $10-$20 by buying off the internet.  Never sure what you will get.

Normal drilling will probably get you under the 3 oz max top weight.  The distributor probably found the pin length you requested and went with the closest top weight available.

FWIW I found my XXXL worked great on the THS, played 2-3 board belly, just kept moving everything left when carrydown set in.  Really messed up the crankers shot pushing all that oil down the lane.
