Carbide + --- How much oil can it handle?
« on: January 06, 2007, 03:25:04 PM »
It's classified as a medium-heavy ball on BBR, but I've seen some reviews claiming this thing can be used on a heavy or long oil sport shot. I'm getting one drilled up stacked, hoping to use this on this type of condition. Am I fooling myself or would it be able to work out?

It's a great ball, but what I found was it's a more of a "down and in" ball on heavier oil. So it handles oil fine, just didn't cover alot of boards on oil, like some other "oil balls" do.

Hope that helps!

I have a Carbide+ drilled label (high pin label 12.30) with a long pin and this ball has too much lenght and not enough backend on the oil.
On meds and slighly oillier condition) the ball is a Weapon of pindestruction.

So if you want the ball on heavy oil get a shorter pin and beware to have it drill aggressive!

The ball starts out early and is made for oil but wrong drilled it won't work anymore.

The Carbide+ I have is good on oil and on meds... in the really heavy stuff thou I have to play down and in.

So I would say the ball as it is good for the heavy oil as long as it is drilled right.
If you want a very versatile ball that can eat up any carrydown have it drilled a bit longer with more backend.

Have fun and score well!
