First of all, im posting because of curiosity, not being mean or anything.

i would like to have an idea why Lane 1's balls are more expensive than other brands?

im dont doubt about the quality of Lane1 balls, but are the materials involved what make the balls more expensive? or its just a marketing strategy?

Understand my point of view, im still a student and it makes difference for me.

again, im not here to start drama, just want to have more information and maybe next time consider buying from this brand.

Why does the world buy luxury cars??? Because they can and you know what it is all good with me, supply and demand small company with a somewhat of cult following including myself. It is a premium brand if you want it buy for the best deal you can which you were already told who to go too. If you do not wish too try one dont it is your money and there is no correct answer except premium versus generic per say.

Lane#1 has a patented core that by it's creators and users is stated it "rolls better" and "hits harder".

It's users and fans swear by it and the claim made is it's users have more 300s and 800s per owner than any other ball!

If you are not convinced of these claims you would buy other balls. As it is manufactured by subcontract thru Brunswick.

"Rolls Better" ..."hits Harder" YOu believe it! You pony up.
Don't believe it...many other balls to buy!

Seriously, if you match up to their equipment, they're fine balls. Some balls are legitimately more expensive to manufacture. Multi-piece, multi-density asymmetric cores, some high-end covers like EOX or Soaker that have expensive additives. I don't know if the diamond cores are more expensive to make, but I wouldn't expect them to be significantly more expensive than more complex shapes.

Durability-wise, they've used Brunswick covers for a long time, PK17, PK18, Aggressive Reactive, several versions of Activator, so they're just as durable as any other balls with those covers. Brunswick does the manufacturing as well, I believe, so quality-wise they're pretty much the same.

It's all about marketing and the notion of paying more for a "better" product. I've never thrown any Lane 1 balls but I know plenty of people who like them. They seem just as good as anything else, I don't see anything to separate them from any other high-end ball (nor do I see much that separates other high-end balls from each other anyway). It's all about matching up to your game and if it does, then maybe it's worth it to spend the extra $20, $30, or $40. If you match up fine to other equipment, then you can save that money for more balls or more bowling.

only way to find out is to roll one, lane 1 users, myself included will tell you there is a different roll and hit, others will say there isnt, but it is all about match up if you match up, more then likely you will say they ar the best, if not, just an expensive boat anchor. Buy a used one, give it a whirl and then decide if you like them

cost is a non issue as you can get lane 1 stuff for slightly more or equal to other manufacturers premium stuff

Hey APheLion,

If you are a college student and the money comes out of your pocket as opposed to someone elses, I would probably throw Brunswick equipment. They have a great program with college teams and clubs. Some other companies do also, although not as discounted, and many are getting out of the college scene altogether. Either way, it is a marketing ploy and it works. I personally have never been a big Brunswick fan, but buy their stuff because of the college program they have. If you have questions let me know.

Hey Guys!

Stop wining about high prices of bowlingballs. Over here in Europe a High Performance ball is about $400.00, even if it's a Lane #1, Brunswick, Storm, Ebonite, CoÃ¶umbia or whatever brand we are talking about.....!!!

thats not even close to a fair argument. they buy luxury cars because there made with higher tolerances, better materials, ride better, are more comfortable, have tons of standard options ect, the balls are made with no better materials, maby newer blends of the same stuff, and there is not really a quality issue for any company. the question is, is lane 1 really that much better to justify the price differece, and the answer is yes and no. some people just match up to covers and cores of different companys, and if lane 1 is for you then its worth it, if you cant get it to roll then its not, end of story. not that there really that much more expencive unless you buy used, the used ones go for way to much imo. new is all good though, an extra 20-30 max for a company you feel matches your game seems fine to me.

LuckyLefty: i didnt have the luxury to roll many balls, so far i only rolled the following balls:
SpeedZone, IST-Revolution,and Agent. The speedzone is not with me for years so i cant really remember. The IST-Revolution has a pretty good roll, but the surface is pretty much gone, i'll have it resurfaced soon. The Agent is still a mystery for me, i dont really like the roll, but i like how it hits. So, to make it short i would like something that rolls like the Revolution and hits like the Agent.

shelley: Thx a lot, i think u went thru the points that was not clear for me. I think im still searching for my style, maybe one day i can get a used Lane1 too see how it fits my style.

triggerman: yea i will try, the thing is here in Canada, at least in the ally i play, no many ppl have Lane1 balls, but if i get a chance i'll defenitely trying one. Or if i see a good opportunity on Ebay i would try it.

spmcgivern: since im in Canada, not sure if theres any university programs here... and the closest alley is about 1h by bus, so i really doubt about it. So far i have been buying balls from Ebay, got my Agent 15lb(lil bit too heavy for me) and infinite one 14lb (not drilled yet), both at a reasonable price, but as u see, the shipping + taxes + drilling would cost me a good 250cnd per ball.

with all the factors i have to take into account, i really needed some information to make a good decision. I think u guys just gave me the answers

KeglerX: i missed ur reply before somehow, Allstarbowling-Joe is a very nice guy, i just got a 14lb infinite one from him for about $100usd, if one day i have a chance to get a lane1 for about the same price from him, i would surely try to win the bid.

If you want a cheaper Buzzsaw (used) you might try this. I messaged a touring pro who used Lane #1 and picked up a several of his cast aways, cheap. None looked as if they had been used, other than they had scribe lines and holes in them. I'm not sure who is using 'Saws now (Rudy Revs?) but you might try that.

Personal preference and matching to one's style. Another aspect to consider is that although Lane#1 equipment may cost more initially, used Lane#1 equipment is worth considerably more than other brands (in general).

They are not worth anymore to you if they don't work for you I tried Lane1 and I will not buy another one I guess I just don't match up to their equipment but I did try it

Two points here.

1. Use punctuation, it gets confusing, dude.

2. Just because one ball does not work or suit up for you - it probably wasn't the company. There are so many factors when it comes to a bowling ball. Drilling, Surface, Lanes, Yourself, etc.

And to point something out.

You said you have tried there product one time and will never go back.

I my first actual "high performance" hooking ball was a scorchin' inferno. I hated the ball, just burnt up. I did not decide to just quit the company because of one bad ball to me.
