Agent Orange Question
« on: December 08, 2008, 11:06:16 AM »
I need a good strong medium oil pearl to replace my badly overused DB.

Bowling stats - speed around 17 mph. 250 or so revs. Dont know pap (pro shop guy does though, I just keep forgetting to ask).

Would taking this ball up to 1 or 2 k grit and slightly polishing it kill it? Or would it be feasible to be a viable ball for the standard 39 footer Medium THS? Obviously 500 grit would be a night mare on a medium THS.

I have not had much luck with CG Out drills so it probably will be drilled stacked or matched to my BuzzBomb.

I thought long about the Buzzbomb/r but didnt really care for what I saw from the videos and didnt really care for the way it acted when I practiced with my friends. I match up really well with the BB but on this league, there just is not enough oil for that ball.

Well if there isn't enough oil for the BuzzBomb, the Agent Orange is gonna be way to strong.  If you took it to 2000 or maybe even 4000 and shined it up real good it should be a bit weaker then the BuzzBomb, but OoB there's no way.

There is no way that changing the surface of any coverstock today will kill a ball. These balls are meant to be adjusted to the bowlers liking...

Do the adjustments in steps though, that way you know what the different levels do to the ball..

A suggestion on a good strong medium oil pearl to step in and take the place of the DB would be either the Supernova or the THS. I have the SN but not the THS. But I did throw one (well several) at the Ballreviews days and found it to be a little strong for my speed vs my rev rate, still very smooth though.

My Cobalt Pearl was very similar to my DB too....

If he likes the BB why doesnt he purchase another and drill it same with different cover or drill it weaker?
