Was given a barely used Tsunami......how should I drill it?
« on: January 27, 2009, 06:41:12 AM »
Greetings!

I think this is my first post on the Lane 1 board so to speak. I have only had 2 Lane 1 Balls (SCB and BCB) and neither really matched up to me.  I have been given a slightly used Tsunami that I have plugged up and ready to go.  It has a 1.5 inch pin and about 2.8 oz tw.  CG (bomb?) is lined up well with pin and MB. I have my current arsenal posted (along with video and bowler specs) and was hoping some of the Lane 1 Regulars wouldn't mind suggesting a layout and what condition this ball would work best for me with the arsenal I have already.

Thank you for your time and any assistance with this!

4.5 x 4 with the MB 2" left of the VAL and the pin below the finger plane always worked great on the Tsunami line..

If you want it a little stronger than go 4 x 3 3/8

End with equal parts finger and side.

I'm about to make zeusjr have a conniption fit -- but I have one with a label drill on it and it's a monster, one of the best balls I've ever owned. It's my favorite Lane #1 piece of all time.

Thank you everyone for the replies!

I think I am going to try Beans's suggestion as seems like a layout that would work for me and may give me a look that would be good at the one house I bowl at.

Will drill her up and post some results for you guys soon!

Thanks again for everything!

I had 2 different Tsunamis and liked both.

First ball was 4x4 with MB 1" right of thumb. Read the midlane well with a strong backend...pretty angular but not real flippy.

Other ball is 2" pin to PAP with MB under thumbhole...this ball reads the lane very strongly but has a hook-set reaction. The ball turns the corner and stops. I use this ball when the backends start to scream. I can toss it right and once it hooks up it will flatten out and roll intothe pocket.
