Another Dynamo question...
« on: February 27, 2009, 02:45:00 AM »
From the Co Description:

The Dynamo featuring our all new Hurricane Diamond core, is a Powerplant of Destruction waiting to happen. The Dynamo''s super low RG (.246) Hurricane Core builds energy like a powerplant immediately upon release. Engulfed by our own new cutting edge CATEGORY-5 Coverstock , the Dynamo cuts through the heaviest oils eliminating over-under. From start to finish, the Dynamo builds energy to waiting to hook and unload it''s massive power on the pins.

Hopefully the lanes are wide enough..!!

Does this mean that they reformulated something, put in their own additives or are they pouring their own covers now.

If it's reformulated, does that mean it's the ONLY ball out there with this particular coverstock?

I cannot say for sure on the reformulation, but this wouldnt be the first time that lane #1 has had a prior formula and added or tweeked it such that they are the only ones with it. The prime example that comes to mind was the pk18/activator blend they had on the hybrid DB, till this day Big B denies putting it on any of their stuff

I do know that Lane #1 and the chemists at global have worked together on variation of proven stocks, so to say that this is a new coverstock would not be out of the question

a huge % of veneers are using the same base resins, a dash of this with a dash of that regardless if they are in the same %'s or not, will yield a different property of skid, hook, friction dependent on what the manufacturer is wanting to achieve. So if 900G uses a + b in the same percentages, and Lane #1 uses the same formulation but increases "a" by 2%, over b then technically it is diffferent, so there in lies one reason there are sooo many veneer names or "new" covers.

Is it true that Dunlop is now making golf balls with embedded mica?
Does it really make it "bite into" the club head better? more traction?

more like diamonds that protrude from the cover after the club's impact, this allows the ball better bite when landing on the surface of the green producing more backspin for advanced stopping or checking up assistance.

. . . diamonds will produce 20% more wind turbulence
. . . you'll need 5% wider fairways for that!
