DRILLING A URANIUM ?
« on: March 08, 2004, 06:08:57 PM »
I just got my Uranium, i am looking for some info on your drill pattern and your spec. I am looking for the ball to clear the fronts and really flip hard on the back. I bowl at a house with medium oil and med carry down, my ball speed is around 18-19 mph with high revs. Looking for all the info i can get before i punch this ball. Thanks for any help you guys can send my way.

Current balls i am throwing, Golden Nugget drilled stacked 4x4,
Silver diamond 5x4, Cherry Bomb drilled label 4x5

If you like the way your Silver Diamond reacts, it seems that your Uranium with a 5x4 drilling will be to your liking.  I punched one out with a small weight hole 1/2" past my PAP with a 5x4 configuration and have had nothing but success on three different shots and two different tourneys.  Somewhere in the vacinity of 25 games under my belt with her and a low game of 217.  The fresher the shot, the more you may have to lay the ball down through the heads deep inside.  As carrydown emerges, you can square off somewhere just a little to the right(RH), grab a mitful of ball and be prepared for a shot that has literally no out-of-bounds.  The only time this ball fails to hammer the pocket is if there's a ton of oil in the middle, you pull the ball more than four boards, and put nothing on the ball.  Otherwise, it provides a great read off the transition with a LOT of backend.
