When I said coverstock technology I was not refering to anything other than the coverstock material itself.
Ball reaction is dictated by the coverstock first and the core second. Without friction, no core in the world would ever make a ball hook.

Second, he decided to publicize his auction at a forum, which means he opened it up to any and all comments within the rules of the board. People have equal right to complain about the price as he does to post the thread in the first place.

Whatever dude. $290 for a bowling ball is really over the top and, if I remember correctly, it wasn't really all that popular. Just because you have the cash to buy it, doesn't mean it's a smart purchase.

Whatever dude. $290 for a bowling ball is really over the top and, if I remember correctly, it wasn't really all that popular. Just because you have the cash to buy it, doesn't mean it's a smart purchase.

This assessment is completely off. Of course people founds TONS of success with both Cherry Bombs because they were the same exact ball. The only exception being the Black was to handle heavier oil better and the Pearl was to shine better on Medium-light oil. Otherwise, they have the same RG diff. Hard to not have success with the same exact ball. It was the best 1-2-3 punch ever delivered by Lane #1. Cherry Bombs are the best balls ever made by them. Hands down. (Personal opinion so back off trolly trolls)

Exact same ball?? Uh, sure..
One was a solid (BCB) and one was a pearl (Cherry Bomb). MOST of the L#1 bowlers used the pearl version because it was more versatile..
The UI was the solid version on the OI. More people found success with the OI than the UI. The USolid was less popular that the Upearl was for the same reason.
Totally different reactions despite the same RG numbers..
