And to think that TEC death was almost forgotten.  Now, together with the added premiums that Lane #1 balls are made to bring, should make for an interesting thread.  FWIW, I had a Total Chaos that had in excess of 250 games with little, or no, loss in ball reaction.  I've debated the TEC death topic countless times.  For this mere mortal, it was never an issue.  However, the public is eager to dispute this fact.

I think much of the tec death was attributed to people tossing them on lanes that didn't have enough oil to maintain axis rotation. I'm not saying that tec death didn't exist, but it might have been one of columbia's famous bad batches that they didn't tell anyone about or something like that because there is a guy that bowls in our league that is averaging over 210 with his origional chaos, and it seems to still react well as long as he starts it in the oil.

I think it might be too close in reaction to the carbide + that just came out a couple of months ago, but maybe a new version of the Super Carbide Bomb?

I disagree with the TEC death theory. As a pro shop operator and I have drilled 1000's of balls. Many from the TEC and TEC2 era. It is very easy to say that ALL big hook potential balls go through the "DEATH"......It is very simple. The more a ball hooks when brand new the faster the ball will DIE!! With TEC....The porosity of the cover was high wich allowed the hollow glass bubbles to fill with dirt and crap thus sealing the jagged edges of the particles that made TEC so awesome. With proper maintenance the balls can last a very long time with unbeleivable performance. If any company has the worst rep as far as ball death is concerned it would have to be EBONITE>.....I remember the Ladies on TV when CDBallard was throwing an APEX Obsession and they said she qualified with 3 of them drilled the same because they lost their reaction so quick. That was great puplicity for sure.  I think TEC and TEC2 will really be a great match with ALL the Lane#1 cores..   Just my opinion..   Beans

I've got a really nice 800 ring courtesy of a Total Chaos with a LOT of games on her.  A little TLC now and then will go a long way for some equipment.

I like the Morich Mayhem...I believe a Tec2 ball.

I am also a big fan of the Icon2 I still have.
Many were impressed with the WMB.  Though a Brunswick coverstock I heard the particles were not brunswicks.

None of my Tec balls have died yet...I use them as often as I can.

Reaction Roll...still hooking...Hard!  My cleaning and treatment regimen...
nothing!  However I never use paper only scotch brite or abralon except once or twice I have used 2000 grit or above!
