Anybody throw their..
« on: January 04, 2007, 09:54:01 AM »
xxxl on a fresh condition?  My house is currently putting down a very snappy backend.  I usually throw dull surfaces during league but I'm having trouble getting my equipment far enough right to keep it from hitting high and polished equipment doesn't hook soon enough due to my speed.  So I would like you opinion on how to over come the oil the xxxl will be pushing into the 1-3 pocket.  It works fine until the middle of the 2nd game then no matter how much I move right the oil at the pocket makes the ball hit very weak.  Any suggestions?

If you are pushing oil try to throw the same line with your solids after the second game...... there may be enough carydown to let your solid stuff ride the line to the pocket.....

Thats because the XXXL ball is Urethane. It will push the oil further down the lane instead of picking it up as reactive and particle balls do. You need a ball with more agressive backend to finish. Buzzhead is right!  handmeDN

Dude, XXXL is plastic and it does push the oil, XXL is urethane.

I've thrown my xxxl on our fresh oil pattern. Not quite a THS though. OUr house has been putting down a 42 ft. flat oil pattern with a good volume of oil down as well. Really have to slow balls down to get them to move. But since I just got this xxxl I wanted to see how it hit and reacted. I've stood all the way right and slowed it down to about 15 mph and pointed at the pocket. The flare got this ball rolling strong enough to carry, and rather well at that. I've been waiting for dry conditions to use this ball but when I want them, can't find them! lol

Then what you need is the HRG drilled with the pin over bridge, and cg right, in line under the ring finger (approx. 5x4), I bet that this would work for you on the fresh shot, as I have 18 mph, and I would not use my XXXL.

If I used my XXXL on my THS, I'd have to move way right, and point it at the pocket. It's one of my favorite balls right now, but the condition has to be right for it.
