So, somebody tell me about the cranberry. I have one sitting here, but put off drilling it for now. Having too much fun with my blueberry! How would you compare the reactions of those two?

Wayne,

E-mail Doug sterner at dougsproshop@aol.com, he had both.  I had a BB, but not the Cranberry; Doug told me that the C was not as impressive as expected, and that the BB was better.  I am sure that because it is a Saw, that you will be able to use a drilling for it that will allow it to fit somewhere in your game.

Thanks Dave! I am impressed with my blueberry as well. I also like my cherry C2, & I didn't want to drill the cranberry if it was going to be too close to either of those. I get the impression that the cranberry will probably be a little longer & a little more skid flippy, but not sure.

I've had both balls. for me, the BB was way more of a control ball, even arcing and very predictable, i could use the BB on almost any condition...the cranberry was very condition specific and super flippy. cranberry got way more length and flipped really hard, over under was not the cranberrys friend. i never really used/liked the cranberry because for me it was not forgiving, if i threw it a little different it would make a big difference in the reaction. for myself, i prefered both of the balls with a slight polish, especially the BB.

wingwong, thanks for the info! I have one more question about the cranberry. If it goes long & flips, did you find it to be any good for a deep inside line? Thanks in advance.

yup, pretty much the only time i used the cranberry was when playing a deep inside line. i couldnt play the super deep and tight line that barely crosses over the nose cuz i dont have enough hand to get decent carry, but i imagine it is possible /w the right style.  i found the cranberry to work the best on long light patterns and most medium conditions as long as the oil didnt get pushed down very far or else the ball would just skid.

Wayne,

Also keep in mind that the BB was one of the most versatile covers in bowling.  You could sand/polish it for a set, and later take it back to box and would accept the changes easily, without loss of performance.  That was one of the best features, alonf with the best feature of all, IT'S A SAW!!!

Thanks guys! I am finding the c & c2 cores are matching up pretty good for my style & the conditions I've been bowling on. The blueberry is still pretty shiny in oob condition. My cherry C2 I took the sheen off & its finished to 4000 grit abralon pad. My pearl carbide is suiting me pretty good as well. I just hope none of them wear out cause I love them all!
