redrilling a saw
« on: October 25, 2003, 04:59:19 AM »
Currently I have 5 saws, a blueberry 1-2 inch pin with a 1:30 label drill, a super carbide bomb, stacked leverage, a black cherry with a 4.5 by 33/8 (cg leverage) drill, a carbide pearl, stacked leverage, and a original cherry.  My question is this, the blueberry that I have with the 1:30 drill is too condition specific and tends to be very speed sensitive.  The cover is at 1500-2000 polished.  If I redrill this ball, all things equal, and drill it in a 4.5 to 3 3/8 (or something close) pattern with this tame down the jumpyness that I notice with this ball.  I have tried several different cover preps on it (sanded 1000, sanded 600, polished to 3000, etc) and I haven't mellowed it out at all.  I think that this drilling pattern that I put into this ball is wrong, and probably should have drilled it differently.  Any thoughts???
