AO coverstock
« on: January 03, 2009, 12:28:00 AM »
Is the AO coverstock the same as the Buzzbomb ? Heard from bowlers who owns the Buzzbomb that it is an oil sponge and they need to soak it in hot bath very often.
AO owners, is the AO an oil sponge as well ? Do you really need to do hot bath very often ? Please advice.... thanks !

It is the same coverstock.  As for the BuzzBomb, I don't think you have to give it a bath very often, but it does need done from time to time.  I'm sure the AO will have similar issues, but I don't use it nearly as much as I use my BuzzBomb.  I've only had to do give it a bath once and I've owned it since they came out, and have a ton of games on it.

The BTM review of the AO wrote that the AO was the pearlized version of the BuzzBomb's solid coverstock.

i was under the impression the AO was an aggessive pearl, where as the  BBR is a milder pearl , and the buzzbomb is a solid , you can allways ck the lane #1 website

42S is correct.....all the same base coverstock but the BBis the solid version, AO a stronger pearl version and the BBR the harder, weaker pearl variety.

I just won one of these on eBay for $80 shipped.  It's used, but it's a single left handed drill, and I'm a lefty, so it's going to be grand!!  I hope this ball works well for me.

At 500 grit Abralon, virtually every pearl is aggressive.
