Ball Help
« on: April 15, 2008, 03:18:41 PM »
I am looking for a new ball. I will need it for a THS. I have included a video to show how I bowl. I am bowling on a lane freshly oiled with the shot I want the ball for.I am using a 15 lb carbide plus with pics of the drill in the vid.
Also any tips on improving would be appreciated. Its only a couple shots but it should give you an idea of whats going on.

I would drill the New Teal Buzzsaw with a 4.5x4 layout with the pin above the finger plane.

couldn't a strong drilled Supernova XP be a good alternative?

Or do you guys think a pearl would skidd too much for his style.

Anyway... good bowling and keep it up!

but if you want adivce... you could try to get a different release with a bit mor sideroll to be able to enhance ball motion and generate hook... does not have to be a big thing... often small changes in hand position result in big reaction changes. Other's know more and better
(I'm learning myself...still and will always be learning... cause that's life and that's how to live it!)

I would recommend  supernova XP drilled on the stronger side say 4 1/2 X 4 1/2. I can't seem to ever get mine to go past the breakpoint on a house shot. Best pin action i have seen in sometime as well.

You threw a double with the C+ in the video (unless you edited out a few bad shots). Looks like it works just fine (strikes are good, yes?). How do you want the reaction to differ? More or less overall hook? Longer with a sharper break or earlier with a smoother break?

I want to try something new. Want to try some different coverstocks and drill layouts. Just trying to learn more and experiment. Don't really need a new ball just want to try something new. Looking to learn more and I learn by doing but just wanted some input as to what anyone with experience thinks would work best or what I should try next.
Thanks to everyone for the help so far. I will try working with more side roll.
